Woman lived hidden in Japan flat

A woman has been arrested in Japan for sneaking into a man's house and living in his wardrobe without him knowing.

The house belonged to a 57-year-old man, who had become suspicious after food disappeared from his fridge.

So he installed a surveillance system, which filmed the woman as she walked around in his absence.

"She seems to have lived there for about a year, but not all the time."

Google your way to a wacky office

If your ideal workspace includes a slide, a games room, a 'chill-out' aquarium and plenty of free food then you had better get your CV into Google.

Meeting 'pods' in the style of Swiss chalets and igloos, fireman poles to allow easy access between floors and a slide to ensure that people can get to the cafeteria as quickly as possible are all part of a design of its new European engineering headquarters in Zurich Switzerland.

The wacky office is both a showcase for Google's unconventional approach to business and a symbol to prove that Google is no longer a US-centric firm.

The questions about Google's role as the provider of the world's information are likely to get louder but few doubt that it is setting new standards in how to get the best out of employees.

And Google assured the more cynical members of the press that the slide is used every day.

Israeli mathematician unravels puzzle that baffled scientists for decades

By Aron Heller

Avraham Trahtman, a mathematician who also toiled as a laborer after moving to Israel from Russia, succeeded where dozens failed, solving the elusive "Road Coloring Problem."

The conjecture essentially assumed it's possible to create a "universal map" that can direct people to arrive at a certain destination, at the same time, regardless of starting point. Experts say the proposition could have real-life applications in mapping and computer science.

the solution could have many applications.

"Say you've lost an e-mail and you want to get it back — it would be guaranteed," he said. "Let's say you are lost in a town you have never been in before and you have to get to a friend's house and there are no street signs — the directions will work no matter what."

Woman Says Being Declared Dead Ruins Life

Laura Todd Says She's Been Dead On, Off Again For 8 Years

Laura Todd said an 8-year-old typo is affecting everything from her credit to her tax return.

"I don't think people realize how difficult it is to be dead when you're not,” she said.

She said her problems started when someone in Florida died and her Social Security number was accidentally typed in.

"The IRS says I’m dead. Everybody says I'm dead,” she said.

She said being dead off and on has made everyday life a hassle. She said her bank closed her credit card account and attached a note of sympathy: “Please accept our condolences on the death of Laura Todd.”

Todd said she'll try to file her tax return again and see if the problem has really been fixed.
