Obama Promoting Coal -- And Concern For Rural Voters -- In New Kentucky Ad

The ad seems to be formulated to deal with a critique of Obama that has surfaced in the last few contests: That in the wake of the "small town" comments, he has trouble relating to or connecting with rural voters.

Interestingly, Ben Smith notes that the Obama camp hasn't blasted this ad to reporters in the way they usually do -- perhaps because liquid coal technologies aren't particularly popular with environmental activists.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration continues to issue alerts in regards to the tainted blood-thinner heparin. This comes as they also continue to withhold information consisting of a live of Chinese suppliers. Congressional investigators have been trying to gain access to this list repeatedly.

Marijuana is one of the world’s most commonly used illegal drugs. There are approximately 300 million users worldwide and 28 million users in the United States alone.

Now, according to a new White House Office of National Drug Control Policy report, teens using marijuana put themselves at higher risk for serious mental problems including worsening depression, schizophrenia, anxiety and suicide.

In a Fox News interview this afternoon, former UN Ambassador John Bolton discussed his desire to bomb camps inside Iran that are reportedly training and arming Shiite insurgents who fight in Iraq. Fox host Martha McCallum asked, “Can you imagine a scenario where President Bush would do that before the end of his term?” Bolton responded, “I think so, definitely.” He added later, “This is entirely responsible on our part.” Watch it:

Asked by McCallum whether Israel would be supportive of the strikes given the possibility of Iranian retaliation, Bolton responded, “I think they’d be delighted.”

* Parents want their child to fight another teen because he/she had been teased by them

Personal:
* Parents don't want their child dating an teen they don't like
* Parents think the club their child wants to join is a waste of time

Prudential:
* Parents object to their child not wanting to finish her/his homework
* Parents don't want their child to ride a motorcycle

In each case, the participants were asked whether it would be acceptable for a 16-year-old to lie about doing (or not doing) these things despite their parents' objections. Here are the results:

So nearly all teens believe it's okay to lie to your parents when you've defied their expectations to commit an immoral act.

It's up to the good people in Indiana and North Carolina to do the right thing:

They should ignore the political mischief and judge Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on their visions for America, which has played out during this primary.

Looks like Clinton has gotten a lift from the fear-mongering, and is now slightly ahead of Obama in Indiana, and has narrowed his double-digit lead in North Carolina.
