HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Matthew McConaughey says he immediately committed to a role in the upcoming film We Are Marshall after reading the script.

McConaughey plays coach Jack Lengyel, who took over the Marshall University football team after a plane crash killed 75 players, coaches and community members in November 1970.

"There's two scripts I've read in my career — I've made 37 films — that as soon as I finished the last page, I said, 'I'm in, no matter what,'" McConaughey said Wednesday.

He named We Are Marshall and his first film, 1993's Dazed and Confused.

"I finished the script and I couldn't get it off my mind," he said of We Are Marshall. "I had emotions that I haven't had in a while. I didn't know this story."

The film tells the story of the football program's rebuilding.

Lengyel was hired in March 1971, four months after the team's chartered jet crashed into a hill short of Tri-State Airport in rain and fog.

Lengyel oversaw a patchwork quilt of players. There were three dozen walk-ons — former servicemen, a soccer player, basketball players and transfer students.

They joined the few returning players who were not on the plane and a group of freshmen who were not allowed to play the previous fall due to NCAA restrictions.

"Katie's Revenge" Tattooed on Forehead of Convicted Murderer

A man serving life in prison at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility for molesting and killing a Crothersville girl is now part of a Department of Correction investigation.

Thirty-nine-year-old Anthony Stockelman, convicted for the murder of Katie Collman, now has a tattoo that reads "Katie's Revenge" on his forehead.

The photo of what is identified as Stockelman's forehead and eyes appeared online on a blog that focuses on news reports about crimes against children and women. The blogger says she received the photograph in an e-mail last Saturday. She says the e-mail also claimed a distant relative of Katie's who also is at Wabash Valley had given Stockelman the tattoo.

A Department of Correction spokesperson says Stockelman did receive the tattoo while serving time at Wabash Valley. While they won't comment further they do say the incident is under investigation and they have contacted the state police.

HONOLULU (AP) — TV reality star Duane "Dog" Chapman, out on bail while international criminal charges are pending, had his electronic monitoring ankle bracelet removed Thursday for a trip to New York.

A judge agreed to temporarily free Chapman, the star of Dog The Bounty Hunter, of the ankle bracelet so he could attend previously scheduled appearances on the East Coast, said his attorney, Brook Hart. Chapman will return to Honolulu on Wednesday.

"As a practical matter, traveling around with an ankle bracelet is not a very efficient practice," Hart said.

Chapman was released on $300,000 bail Sept. 15, a day after he and two co-stars were arrested for illegal detention and conspiracy in the capture of a cosmetics company heir in Mexico.

The trio had ensnared convicted rapist Andrew Luster, the Max Factor heir, on June 18, 2003, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. But they, too, were arrested by Mexican authorities.

Chapman must attend extradition hearings to face trial in Mexico, where bounty hunting is considered a crime.

"Mr. Chapman should have stayed in Mexico to resolve the matter" when he was arrested there in July 2003, Hart said.

Chapman's capture of Luster, who had fled the country during his trial on charges he raped three women, catapulted the 53-year-old bounty hunter to fame and led to the reality series on A&E. Luster is now serving a 124-year prison term.

Google today dropped a big update to its feed reader. They're characterizing their RSS reader as "your inbox for the Web," which I kinda like. One of the big new features is that each user now gets their own public page where they can share feed items. It's similar to Bloglines' clip blogs. Another feature is feed discovery tool. Gmail as recipe organizer

Gmail to the rescue again! This time, as Ashley's recipe organizer:

I use the Internet to find almost all of my recipes [Fridge Googling! -- Ed.] . Now, I email myself the recipes to my Gmail account and I have a quick easy way to organize them. I apply a 'Recipes' label to them to keep them from cluttering the Inbox and then I can use Google's handy Search Mail feature to find the recipe I need. The sponsored links section has even shown me some other nice sites to find recipes. Sharing recipes has never been easier too!

Other Gmail uses: as a baby book, as a collector of stories and correspondence for kids.
