This Friday, the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles will meet for a final hearing on his case. On Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11, people all over the country will be taking action to stop Troy's execution and let Georgia officials know that they are watching to make sure they do not execute an innocent man. Over the last couple days, every newspaper and network in America has disproven Sarah Palin's claim that she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere. Yet just moments ago at a campaign rally in Lebanon, Ohio, she repeated her familiar refrain on the bridge, claiming she told the federal government, "Thanks, but no thanks."

There appears to be no accountability here; the McCain campaign will trot out Palin to repeat her talking points no matter how many times the press reports that Palin campaigned for governor as a supporter of the bridge and only opposed it when it became obvious the federal government was going to cancel its funding.

Today, states receive roughly $50 per person in earmark funds from the federal government. Alaska gets a stunning $506 per person

small towns in Alaska never sought federal earmarks until Palin pioneered the tactic, even using an Abramoff-connected lobbyist to get them

The IG, Earl E. Devaney, told Congress that the Interior Department’s Royalty in Kind program was bathed in "a culture of substance abuse and promiscuity," with 13 bureaucrats, including the former director of the program, Gregory W. Smith, violating ethics rules by accepting gifts from oil executives, having sex with them, rigging contracts, or engaging in other financial dealings that benefited them and the companies at the expense of the taxpayers.

Smith allegedly took money from a company in exchange for urging other companies to hire its services and engaged in sex with two subordinates, and that subordinates engaged in sex with oil execs

Ahhhhh. Nice to know what good hands we're in at the Interior Department, the officials who will be unleashed to grant new leases to oil-and-gas companies as soon as the ban on most new off-shore drilling expires on September 30 if the Republicans have their way.

What kind of budget-cutter makes a show of getting rid of the state plane, then turns around and bills taxpayers for the travel of her husband and kids between Juneau and Wasilla and sticks the state with a per-diem tab to stay in her own home?

Why was Sarah for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against the Bridge to Nowhere, and why was she for earmarks before she was against them? And doesn’t all this make her just as big a flip-flopper as John Kerry?

What kind of fiscal conservative raises taxes and increases budgets in both her jobs — as mayor and as governor?

Why put out a press release about her teenage daughter’s pregnancy and then spend the next few days attacking the press for covering that press release?

As Troopergate unfolds here — an inquiry into whether Palin inappropriately fired the commissioner of public safety for refusing to fire her ex-brother-in-law — it raises this question: Who else is on her enemies list and what might she do with the F.B.I.?

A McCain-Palin ad has FactCheck.org calling Obama's attacks on Palin "completely false" and "misleading." That's what we said, but it wasn't about Obama.

We have no evidence that any of the claims we found to be false came from the Obama campaign

With its latest ad, released Sept. 10, the McCain-Palin campaign has altered our message in a fashion we consider less than honest. The ad strives to convey the message that FactCheck.org said "completely false" attacks on Gov. Sarah Palin had come from Sen. Barack Obama. We said no such thing. We have yet to dispute any claim from the Obama campaign about Palin.

They call the ad "Fact Check." It says "the attacks on Gov. Palin have been called 'completely false' ... 'misleading.' " On screen is a still photo of a grim-faced Obama. Our words are accurately quoted, but they had nothing to do with Obama.

Goodman Charged with Obstruction; Felony Riot Charges Pending Against Kouddous and Salazar

All three were violently manhandled by law enforcement officers. Abdel Kouddous was slammed against a wall and the ground, leaving his arms scraped and bloodied. He sustained other injuries to his chest and back. Salazar’s violent arrest by baton-wielding officers, during which she was slammed to the ground while yelling, “I’m Press! Press!,” resulted in her nose bleeding, as well as causing facial pain. Goodman’s arm was violently yanked by police as she was arrested.
