Poor, Poor Harry Reid

It hasn't been a great year for Harry Reid by any stretch of the imagination. Americans have been nauseated by the liberal agenda Reid, Pelosi, and Obama have pushed. That's a big problem for Reid, because he's up for reelection next year and his approval rating in Nevada is at a pathetic 38%. Moreover, his numbers aren't improving despite the fact that he's already spending significant sums on advertising. Meanwhile, both of Reid's likely opponents, Danny Tarkanian and Sue Lowden, are both beating him handily despite not being able to match his name recognition yet.

So now Reid's pushing a trainwreck of a health care bill that will explode the deficit, damage Medicare, increase premiums, raise taxes, lead to rationing, and destroy the quality of health care in America. The American public is clearly, unambiguously against the bill, and the numbers only seem to be getting worse for the Democrats.

Well, ACORN retained a law firm to investigate its operations and, surprise, the law firm found that ACORN hadn’t done anything wrong in the undercover videos filmed by James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles. The review, overseen by former Massachusetts Attorney General Scott Harschbarger, a long-time ally of ACORN, found that any problems within ACORN are, gosh darn it, simply because ACORN was too successful, i.e. grew too big and too fast. The problems are also mostly, conveniently, the result of people who are no longer employed by ACORN, i.e. Wade Rathke.

What's the difference between a million, a billion, a trillion?

A trillion dollars is so large a number that only politicians
can use the term in conversation... probably because they
seldom think about what they are really saying. I've read that
mathematicians do not even use the term trillion!

Critics pile on and discover he's a mere mortal after all

(Newser) – The "Church of Obama" is losing parishioners quickly, writes Dana Milbank. These are the liberal supporters who saw him as a "transformational figure who would end war, save the Earth from global warming, restore the economy—and still be home for dinner." The Afghanistan descision seems to have been the last straw for many, with big names like Michael Moore and Arianna Huffington questioning his leadership.

Milbank points out in the Washington Post that Obama the candidate never promised to end the war—just the opposite, in fact—but no matter. On this and other matters, he had inexplicably become a larger-than-life figure for liberals and progressives, and they deserve just as much blame as the president for their disillusionment. "This is what happens when true believers mistake a mortal for a messiah."

Many of you are too young to remember, but in 1975 our government pushed "the coming ice age."

In 1974, the National Science Board announced: "During the last 20 to 30 years, world temperature has fallen, irregularly at first but more sharply over the last decade. Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end…leading into the next ice age."

n 2002 I stood in a room of the Smithsonian. One entire wall charted the cooling of our globe over the last 60 million years. This was no straight line.

There were no significant warming periods.

Last year, I went back. That fresco is painted over. The same curve hides behind smoked glass, shrunk to three feet but showing the same cooling trend.

If the politicians decide to whip up public fear in a different direction, get with it, oh ye subsidized servants. Downplay that embarrassing old chart and maybe nobody will notice.

Obama Science Czar John Holdren is directly involved in CRU’s unfolding Climategate scandal. In fact, according to files released by a CEU hacker or whistleblower, Holdren is involved in what Canada Free Press (CFP) columnist Canadian climatologist Dr. Tim Ball terms “a truculent and nasty manner that provides a brief demonstration of his lack of understanding, commitment on faith and willingness to ridicule and bully people”.

“The files contain so much material that it is going to take some time t o put it all in context,” says Ball. “However, enough is already known to underscore their explosive nature. It is already clear the entire claims and positions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are based on falsified manipulated material and is therefore completely compromised.

While the mainstream media is bending into pretzels to keep the scandal under the rug, Climategate is already the biggest scientific scandal in history because of the global policy implications.
