CEDARBURG, Wisc. -- Hundreds of angry people in this small town outside Milwaukee taunted reporters and TV crews traveling with Sen. John McCain on Friday, chanting "Be fair!" and pointing fingers at a pack of journalists as they booed loudly.

the 30 or so reporters and crew were walking back to their buses to join the McCain motorcade when hundreds of townspeople started yelling.

"Stop lying! You are all liars! Tell the truth!"

The crowd was not menacing or threatening, but was clearly angry.

"I think the press is very liberal and very slanted against the McCain-Palin ticket. Would you ask a man if his kids were being taken care of while he's out campaigning?"

"The media has called her a sexy librarian look. Would you say that Obama is a sexy Will Smith look?

I never would have voted for Hillary but she is a cut above her husband and even Obama. Hint, hint....how a person is portrayed by the Media & that person's handlers may not be who that person really is....beware of *created* candidates who conform outwardly but are vile and petty on the inside.

APPARENTLY, crippling his wife's campaign wasn't enough for Bill Clinton:

Sen. Clinton's been dutifully supporting the winner, her husband reportedly told friends that Obama could "kiss my ass"

reports have suggested that he's "miffed" about how Obama treated him and believes that Obama's campaign cast him as a racist. He wants an apology.

Clinton chose - in the most spectacular way possible - to put his own desires ahead of his nation, his party and his family when he had an affair with an intern and then lied to his closest aides and the American people about it. Then, for good measure, he lied under oath.

Hillary has always been the rock.

It's her husband who'd never have made it without her.

Clinton took the first step toward rapprochement - a phone call that Obama graciously called "terrific." No word on who placed the call.

Now that Senator Barack Obama has become the Democrats' nominee for President of the United States, to the cheers of the media at home and abroad, he has written a letter to the Secretary of Defense, in a tone as if he is already President, addressing one of his subordinates.

The letter ends: "I look forward to your swift response."

Because of the widely publicized statistic that suicide rates among American troops have gone up, Senator Obama says he wants the Secretary of Defense to tell him, swiftly:

What has been widely publicized in the media is that suicides among American troops have gone up. What has not been widely publicized is that this higher suicide rate is still not as high as the suicide rate among demographically comparable civilians.

Moreover, this is not the first time that military service overseas has been portrayed in the media as the cause of problems that are worse in the civilian population at home. Continued...

clipper's remarks: I do not plan to watch this HBO movie. It's typical re-writing of history by the liberal media and the conspiracy Dems who can't handle the truth. I was here. The media called Florida before the Panhandle even had a chance to vote! It was a huge farce and an attempt to steal the election by Mr. Gore...not the other way around.

No one is going to change anyone's mind. I know that. But I appreciate the reminder of the final fact...however disenfranchised someone might have felt.

This is a consistent and partisan bias on the part of the media. They overreacted in 2000 when George W. Bush cited Jesus as his favorite philosopher,

So why wouldn't they have the same reaction to an overtly Christian pamphlet by Obama? It's either partisanship, or a confidence in the belief that Obama's just engaging in a cagey tactic, while Bush was a sincere and scary Bible-thumper, a budding theocrat.

Last week, expert testimony supported media critic Philippe Karsenty's claim that France 2 reporter Charles Enderlin's coverage of the Mohammad al-Dura affair was doctored and staged.

Karsenty appealed a verdict that he libeled Enderlin when he questioned the claim that Israel killed the boy who was crouching behind his father during a gunfight between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian shooters.

Al-Dura's iconic image sped around the world

It inspired violence, riots, terrorism and became a 21st century Blood Libel.

"If Jamal [the boy's father] and Mohammed al-Dura were indeed struck by shots, then they could not have come from the Israeli position, from a technical point of view, but only from the direction of the Palestinian position."

This is the first time that an independent ballistics expert, not representing the State of Israel, undertook to examine Karsenty's claims.

Just like so many reports before it, a joint survey by the Project for Excellence in Journalism and Harvard's Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy — hardly a bastion of conservative orthodoxy — found that in covering the current presidential race, the media are sympathetic to Democrats and hostile to Republicans.

Democrats are not only favored in the tone of the coverage. They get more coverage period

The most flagrant bias, however, was found in newspapers.

Television has a similar problem. Only 10% of TV stories were focused on issues, and here, too, Democrats get the better of it.

CNN was the most hostile toward Republicans, MSNBC, surprisingly, the most positive.

The anti-GOP attitude also lives on National Public Radio's "Morning Edition."

The PEG-Shorenstein effort is only the latest to conclude that the mainstream media tilt left

Perhaps if the media hadn't been so aggressively portraying the situation in Iraq so inaccurately, the 'nightmare' would not have been such as he considered it.

In his speech to the Military Reporters and Editors Association in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Sanchez accused reporters of "unscrupulous reporting, solely focused on supporting an agenda and preconceived notions of the U.S. military."

"What is clear to me is that you are perpetuating the corrosive partisan politics that is destroying our country and killing our service members who are at war. My assessment is that your profession, to some, has strayed from these ethical standards and allowed external agendas to manipulate what the American public sees on TV, reads in newspapers and what they see on the Web," Sanchez said.

Regardless of his pessimism, Sanchez said that a full-scale withdrawal is not currently an option.

clipper's remarks: I remember this. It was heartbreaking to watch and heartbreaking to see how the incident was being used to fan the flames of violence. But since then, we have seen many such situations being manipulated for propaganda purposes whose main purpose is to continue the hate.

Even then, there were doubts that the footage was accurate. But how many people really *care* if it was or not.

Shortly following the al-Dura incident, however, a series of inquiries cast grave doubt on the accuracy of the original France 2 report.

Research by The Atlantic Monthly, The New Republic and Commentary magazine concurred. Then a German documentary revealed inconsistencies and probable manipulations in the account of France 2's lone journalist on the scene that day, Palestinian cameraman Talal Abu Rahmeh.

More than half of Americans say US news organizations are politically biased, inaccurate, and don't care about the people they report on

And poll respondents who use the Internet as their main source of news -- roughly one quarter of all Americans -- were even harsher with their criticism

More than two-thirds of the Internet users said they felt that news organizations don't care about the people they report on; 59 percent said their reporting was inaccurate; and 64 percent they were politically biased.

"Two decades ago, public attitudes about how news organizations do their job were less negative. Most people believed that news organizations stood up for America... a majority believed that news organizations got the facts straight," Pew said in a report.
