HUH?

clipped by: thinkingblue
clipper's remarks: The Fox News or better yet Fox Noise (as Keith Olbermann calls it) is and always has been a joke to me. I use to watch it during the early lead up days to Bush's illegal war against Iraq. Until one day they attempted to demonize Saddam Hussein one step further than they already had with their constant pummeling of HE KILLED HIS OWN PEOPLE http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article1779.htm SADDAM HUSSEIN HAD WMD'S POINTED AT AMERICA and of course, when no weapons were found they bludgeoned their viewers with IT WAS AMERICA'S JOB TO LIBERATE IRAQIS FROM A BRUTAL RULER. But that day when I tuned in (for the last time) and saw a pathetic little dog staggering against a wall and the voiceover said SADDAM HUSSEIN CONDUCTED POISON GAS TESTS ON DOGS... I spoke the word I use frequently when I'm in a state of extreme perplexity... HUH? Let's see now, who was this bit of propaganda directed at? Oh, I know it was for those who don't become alarmed at human beings becoming collateral damage

Clip Source: www.alternet.org

Fair and Balanced, My Ass! The Bizarre Reality of Fox News

Watching Fox News can be as funny as it is frustrating. But the new book Fair and Balanced, My Ass! shows we dismiss them at our peril.

But again, by objective measures, Fox does a demonstrably poor job of
presenting the cold, hard facts in a spin-free fashion.

24 percent of the stories on MSNBC's Hardball With Chris Matthews
contained the host's opinion, compared with 97 percent on The O'Reilly
Factor. The report also analyzed coverage of the war in Iraq, finding that
73 percent of Fox's Iraq war stories contained opinion, compared with 2
percent for CNN and 29 percent for MSNBC. Fox was also around twice as
likely as its competitors to run positive stories about the war and far more
likely to run positive stories than negative ones.

Fox not only doesn't admit it, it famously cloaks themselves in a tawdry
veil of objectivity, endlessly shouting their "Fair and Balanced"

until their viewers are finally programmed

Tags: media, fox news, political, politics, thinking

<clipSource>http://www.alternet.org/mediaculture/54228/</clipSource>
