After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrows ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn

and you learn...

Primitive Man used to toast marshmallows by simply holding them over an open flame. This burned the skin off their knuckles. Over thousands of years, this painful practice led to Modern Man's having relatively hairless knuckles.

But before you go feeling all superior, we haven't really advanced very far in the marshmallow department. We toast marshmallows on the ends of sticks, and must strain ourselves by manually turning the sticks over the open flame. Sometimes the sticks catch fire and the whole shebang falls into the campfire.

But finally, Modern Science has taken marshmallow toasting into the space age --- The Spinmallow is a motorized contraption that automatically spins your marshmallow over the fire.

Just place a marshmallow on the end, extend it over the fire, press the button, and let the Spinmallow do the work. The stainless steel skewer telescopes up to 29 inches, so you can sit safely away from the flames. It will rotate your marshmallow at 92 RPMs, which according to recent research, is the optimal speed for toasting marshmallows.

Constructive Criticism:

Provides feedback that enhances job results
Leads to ongoing personal and professional development
Reduces stress and creates psychological security
Helps improve interpersonal relationships
Helps develop the ideal organizational climate

Golden Rules of Giving Criticism:

Give criticism in private.
Do not sound threatening.
Keep the criticism balanced.
Focus on the problem, not on the person's personality.
Don't overstate the problem by using words such as "always," "never" or "worst."
Give criticism soon after the event.
Pose questions that let the person do the work for you.
Stick to one subject. Don't string together criticisms at one sitting.
Don't remind people of previous instances that were resolved.
Use the "I" mode.

Golden Rules of Receiving Criticism:

Welcome feedback.
Listen to the criticism.
Maintain eye contact and open body language as you listen.
Restate the criticism to make sure you understand it.
View the criticism as an attempt to fix a problem, not a personal attack.
Focus on possible solutions to each criticism.

If I had an unlimited budget, my office here at Green Head Headquarters would be vastly different. First it would resemble a mysterious underground cave, next there would be a massive waterfall crashing down behind my desk and third one entire wall would be this super cool Plantwall by Green Fortune!
