Professor Helmut Ziegert from Germany, a very experienced and bright archaeologist, comes up with new findings that could shake all we know about the distant past of homo sapiens and the starting point of the Neolitic Age, which was the beginning of our civilization.

Sean Kingsley, an archaeologist and the managing editor of Minerva, said: “This research is nothing less than a quantum leap in our understanding of Man’s intellectual and social history. For archaeology it’s as radical as finding life on Mars.

“As a veteran of over 81 archaeological surveys and excavations . . . Ziegert is nothing if not scientifically cautious, which makes the current revelation all the more exciting.”

Clip Source: www.timesonline.co.uk

Rise of man theory ‘out by 400,000 years’

Our earliest ancestors gave up hunter-gathering and took to a settled life up
to 400,000 years earlier than previously thought, according to controversial
research.

The accepted timescale of Man’s evolution is being challenged by a German
archaeologist who claims to have found evidence that Homo erectus —
mankind’s early ancestor, who migrated from Africa to Asia and Europe —
began living in settled communities long before the accepted time of 10,000
years ago.

The point at which settlement actually took place is the first critical stage
in humanity’s cultural development.

Helmut Ziegert, of the Institute of Archaeology at Hamburg University, says
that the evidence can be found at excavated sites in North and East Africa,
in the remains of stone huts and tools created by upright man for fishing
and butchery.

Right now, she's inhaling. And that's bad news.

"During the years of the inhaling process, prophecy states there will be wars, civil unrest, the collapsing of governments, of nations, of religions, and of commerce."

Sounds like the evening news.

Clip Source: www.sun-herald.com

The world, as I see it, is confusing enough.

But what if the world, as we all see it, isn't all there is?

Scientists this week analyzed data from the collision of two distant galaxies and now say they know there is dark matter and dark energy making up a large part of the universe.

It's real but we can't see it, they say.

The scientists said they don't know what it is, but the universe can't be explained without it.

They need to talk with Chief Little Summer and his wife Warm Night Rain. These authors have a new book published by a Sarasota company that says Native Americans were right all along about the existence of parallel universes.

"The Native American had knowledge of this but did not have the facilities to prove it," the two write in their new book, "Be My Guest," by Piqua Press. Now, they say, Quantum Mechanics proves the earliest Americans were right on track.

"There are many parallel universes," they write, "each with their own frequency of vibration, which makes it independent and invisible to others. Ancient Indians knew this."

Tags: dark matter, parallel universes, native americans, folklore

<clipSource>http://www.sun-herald.com/NewsArchive4/082406/tp4de4.htm?date=082406&story=tp4de4.htm</clipSource>

Copperfield's Fountain of Youth

clipped by: bookchick49
clipper's remarks: I hope they follow up on this story while I'm still young.

Clip Source: www.int.iol.co.za

Magician David Copperfield claims he has discovered a real-life "Fountain of Youth".

The illusionist, who previously dated German supermodel Claudia Schiffer, recently paid £36-million (about R468-million) for four islands in the Exuma archipelago, in the Bahamas, and is adamant he has discovered an expanse of water there that has life-giving qualities.

Among the water's 'powers' is the ability to bring near-dead creatures back to life.

He said: "I've discovered a true phenomenon. You can take dead leaves, they come into contact with the water, they become full of life again. Bugs or

insects that are near death come in contact with the water, they fly away. It's an amazing thing, very exciting."

Copperfield, 49, has now hired a team of top biologists and geologists to come and test the water and the effects it could possibly have on humans.

Until the extensive tests are carried out, the magician is refusing anyone else access to the water.

Myths surrounding the Fountain of Youth have been around for hundreds of years.

One myth dates back to the 16th century, when Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon - who accompanied Christopher Columbus on his second voyage to the New World - heard about it from Caribbean natives.

The natives Leon and his conquistador crew met told them there was a spring with rejuvenating powers in the Bahamas, allegedly not far from - Bang Showbiz

Tags: science, bahamas, david copperfield, fountain of youth

<clipSource>http://www.int.iol.co.za/index.php?from=rss_A%20Step%20Beyond&set_id=1&click_id=29&art_id=iol115590267834C161</clipSource>

Electric Lights in Egypt?

clipped by: invictus
clipper's remarks: This is among the well known enigmas of Ancient Egypt: The reliefs on the walls of Dendera Temple depicts some objects like "electric bulbs", cables, isolators and generators. Very provocative and intriguing. forefathers possessed a much greater technological knowledge than
our schoolbook science is willing to accept. Many of those theories
are lacking serious foundation and are often based on overdrawn
            speculations [ like the
            Manna machine
            ].

But the theory that electricity was known and used in antiquity
seems to rest on a much more stable foundation. The key to the whole theory lies a few hundred kilometers east of
Egypt, in today's Iraq. There some strange pots were found. Some
contained watertight copper cylinders, glued into the opening with
asphalt. In the middle of the cylinder was an iron rod, held in
place also with asphalt. The excavator who found the first of these
pots in 1936 was sure: this is a galvanic element, a primitive
battery. Reconstructions did indeed show that it was possible to
            create electricity with it.

Another key element for the electro-thesis is actually something
            that is missing.
It's a riddle where schoolbook science is
capitulating. Soot. In none of the many thousands of subterranean
tombs and pyramid shafts was found a single trace of soot, as we are
told by the authors of the electro-thesis, although many of these
tombs are full of often colourful paintings. But the primitive light
sources the Egyptians knew (candles, oil lamps etc.) are always
leaving soot and are using oxygen. So how DID the Egyptians get
their light? Some rationalists are arguing with mirrors, but the
quality of the copper plates the Egyptians used as mirrors were not
            good enough for that.

Tags: ancient egypt, dendera, enigmas

<clipSource>http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_lights_fd1.htm</clipSource>
