1. download process explorer (from microsoft technet)
2. start the downloaded setup.exe from giveawayoftheday
3. start proexp
4. start installing the giveawayoftheday as you would normally
5. CRITICAL: before it finishes, in the proexp find the setup.exe, right click it, and select suspend. this should pause the installation
6. right click whatever file is below setup.exe, and click find target. this should take you to your temp folder
7. find whatever that file is called, usually a .tmp file, copy and paste it somewhere else
8. you can either finish installing or cancel the regular installation, that doesnt matter anymore
9. rename that .tmp file to .exe, and it should become a normal executable
10. now you should be able to install the software from that executable whenevers, without giveawayoftheday checking for the validity

Staff persons who've served for four years and want a little distance from the intensity of the hospital can create their fantasy living space in our village.

I want to tell all readers that the journey has been heavenly all along the way. Simply being in an idealist quest is its own reward. I've never felt I've sacrificed anything or thought it was a hard journey. Hard would have been having to work in corporate medicine and lie to patients and myself every day. My concern for humanity's future drives me to want to put whatever efforts I can to changing everything that hurts people and nature. The Gesundheit! Institute is that for me, and so many others.

Good health was much more deeply related to close friendships

All of these are time-consuming, impractical needs. When we don't meet these needs, the business of high-tech medicine diagnoses mental illness and treats with pills.

We wanted patients to bring all their interests and skills to essentially become temporary staff as well as patients during their stay

we have added to our vision a school to teach social change with the whole community

all of the activity to be infused with fun

The point was not to try to teach a staff this, but to find people for whom this was their way of life

In our first 12 years (1971-1983) we did all this as a pilot project. Twenty adults

totaling 15,000 people over those 12 years

We were never sued

No one gave us a donation and we were 0:1400 for foundation grants, so our staff had to work part-time jobs to pay to practice medicine

Microsoft and Google are locked in the equivalent of an “arms race” building up computing and storage capacity to accommodate more and more of the world’s web-based computing activities. Yahoo simply couldn’t compete on this scale all alone. Indeed Yahoo needs Microsoft’s protection and resources simply to survive as a brand, while Microsoft needs Yahoo’s Web-savvy to help it keep up with the ever quickening metabolism of high-tech.

Microsoft already participates in many of the businesses that Yahoo is in, while AOL broadened Time-Warner (TWX). And given how rudderless Yahoo appears to be, there’s absolutely no chance it would take over the management of Microsoft, much less displace the stock symbol as AOL did to TWX. Finally, Microsoft is buying when Yahoo is at its nadir rather than when it was ridiculously overvalued

transaction will turn out to be the equivalent of Time-Warner’s disastrous “merger” with AOL. But it really is a deal of a different color.

Hate Google!....or not!

It's bearing the full brunt of fears that an economic slowdown will dry up online advertising budgets.

Paid-search advertising is the last thing that sponsors will retreat from. Because they typically only pay for generated clicks that result in leads, paid search is fully accountable

That's a silly notion, frankly. . Different dynamics may force the actual bids higher or lower, but as long as they want business, it's the most transparent lead generator out there.

This doesn't mean that one should bail on Google now. I sure wouldn't, since it's trading at just 17 times next year's earnings

There may be no near-term positive catalysts awaiting, but there's a similar shortage of negative catalysts, too.

If you can get past that possible burn, then it's wrong to hate Google. There is no Google killer looming in the distance, nor much reason to believe that Google will be challenged for its online-advertising throne for several years at least.

Is Google the New Yahoo!?

AdSense revenue, which accounts for more than a third of the company's total revenue with its presence on sites like News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace, CNET (Nasdaq: CNET), or Time Warner's (NYSE: TWX) AOL and CNN.com, climbed 37% higher this past quarter at Google. That compares to a 13% year-over-year dip in affiliate revenue at Yahoo! during the same period.

Google has also been growing beyond the clickthrough, whether it's through impression-based display advertising or expanding its action-based affiliate program spots. There is also the monetization of the fast-growing YouTube.

Is revenue growth going to decelerate this quarter? Definitely. Is it going to slam on the brakes and go in reverse? This isn't Crazy Taxi! The comScore data pegged Google's click growth at just 25% this past quarter, but Google's top line actually soared 51%.

My feeling is that procrastination is exactly that: a maladaptive coping mechanism that stupidly tries to balance externally imposed requirements with the self-imposed feeling of no requirements at all. And then you get stuck, because you never learn to just do stuff, even if you are the one formulating the requirements.

I’m saying that blind optimism - *desperate optimism* - is a fundamental trait of startup founders, and it’s very easy for me to understand how it can spread into full-on denial.

I get from your account isn’t that Sam is an evil man, a born liar, a schizophrenic or a fraud. I just think he’s too weak to admit he was wrong.

The main mistake he made was promising to pay you, signing contracts before he had the cash in the bank. Before then you should have been hired on equity only.

Optimism turns to spin turns to white lies turns to outright lies turns to full-on fraud.

You touched on it when you said “wanting it to be true isn’t the same as actually making it happen”. But sure as hell one leads to the other. And it’s very, very easy to cross the line - to go from “positive spin” to an outright lie. It’s a measure of a man’s strength, how he acts in a situation like that.
