Another few hours on the latest monsterpiece, here's how she's looking. You'll forgive the corpse-like complexion, her face isn't quite beautified yet:

Whilst painting the scenery I noticed lots of little things about the original Mona Lisa that I'd missed before - The little bridge to the right of her left shoulder. The weird volcano-like mound on the far left. And from the new additions in my version, the tall building behind her right hair-bun that looks like a massive willy.

Ah well, the kids won't notice :)

"Sunny day" is an installation made of 4464 small medical glass vials filled with different coloured liquids, in a sterile laboratory framework with a fluorescent backlight. When taking a couple of steps back the vivid image of a girl appears, standing at a lakeside, with summery blue sky above. Dimensions 2 x 3 meters.

The work has been exhibited in Vzigalica gallery, at the Svetlobna Gverila festival in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2008 foto: Bojan Brecelj IPAK

Exploring the Lost "Art" of the Film Poster

40+ Creatives were given the task of creating their own interpretation of a Cult, Classic or Obscure film poster from the past, whether it be a literal or abstract solution. The result is Now Showing, an Art exhibition paying homage to more than 70 years of film, through the form of Prints, One Off Screen Prints and Sculptures.

Willard Wigan was born in Birmingham, England in 1957 and is the creator of the smallest works of art on earth. From being a traumatised and unrecognised dyslexic child, he is now emerging as the most globally celebrated micro-miniaturist of all time

Willard can create a masterpiece within the eye of a tiny sewing needle, on the head of a pin, the tip of an eyelash or a grain of sand.

His sculptures have included a Santa Claus and a copy of the FIFA World Cup trophy, both about 0.005mm (0.0002in) tall, and a boxing ring with Muhammad Ali figure which fits onto the head of a match.

Chinese artist Li Wei from Beijing started off his performance series ‘Mirroring’ and later on took off attention with his ‘Falls’ series which shows the artist with his head and chest embedded into the ground. His work is a mixture of performance art and photography that creates illusions of a sometimes dangerous reality. Li Wei states that these images are not computer montages and works with the help of props such as mirror, metal wires, scaffolding and acrobatics.

House dropped on museum

A house has been 'dropped upside down' on the roof of the Viennese Museum of Modern Art.

The art project, entitled House-Attack by top local sculptor Erwin Wurm, is supposed to look as if the house has fallen out of the sky and landed on the famous museum in the centre of the Austrian capital.

It actually took two cranes to put the huge sculpture into place, which is complete with a red roof, window boxes and a TV antenna.

The artist said his work was a statement against over-development.

Wurm said: "There are hundreds of thousands of houses and they are spreading like a plague, like a cancer across our land."

Patrick Acton is an artist from Iowa who uses wooden matchsticks to create his incredible works of art. His works has been featured on ABC’s Extreme, Makeouver, Home Edition, Home and Garden TV as well as magazines such as Highlights for Children, Reminisce, AAA Travel Wood, The Iowan and others. This is one of his upcoming project which is to be completed by 2009 where a model of Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings will be built.

Incredible soap art

Who says soap can only be used for cleansing?

As you can see it makes for great material when you have an artistic sense. Some of you may not be impressed by all these pieces, but I for one never looked at soap as anything but something to help me get squeaky clean, so I’m genuinely impressed to see art in something so common.

I wonder how much one of these babies costs and if anyone really uses them when they bathe? I doubt it.
