Kashmir Singh freed, arriving today

FREEDOM AT LAST: Pakistan caretaker Minister for Human Rights Ansar Burney (left) comes out with Kashmir Singh at the Central Jail in Lahore on Monday.

SLAMABAD: Kashmir Singh, the death row prisoner who spent 35 years in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail, was released on Monday night following a presidential pardon and is expected to cross the Wagah border to India on Tuesday.

Mr. Singh was swamped by the media as he stepped out of the gates of Kot Lakhpat jail, accompanied by Pakistan’s Human Rights Minister Ansar Burney at about 8 p.m.

Amid the popping of hundreds of flash bulbs, Mr. Singh was bundled into a car and taken to a five-star hotel in Lahore where he will spend his first night as a free man in over three decades.

The Indian High Commission here issued Mr. Singh travel documents, and Pakistani authorities gave him a Pakistan visa to enable him to cross the border.

He is expected to cross into India at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Clinton Health Plan to Garnish Wages?

(Washington) — Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.

Clinton said such measures would apply only to workers who can afford health coverage but refuse to buy it, which puts undue pressure on hospitals and emergency rooms. With her proposals for subsidies, she said, "it will be affordable for everyone."

Clinton also suggested that Obama would be more susceptible to Republican attack ads in a general election because he has not been scrutinized for years as she has.

The presidential contenders in both parties campaigned all-out on Sunday, two days before the Super Tuesday voting in 24 states holding primaries or caucuses.

Yes, I said people not government. I am not politically correct. Your government is part of you and you are part of it. Like it or not.
And don't come and tell me in your sheepish ways that I know all too well : " Oh, but I did not vote for this one. "

I don't give a fuck whom you voted for or did not vote for. It is not my problem.

My problem is you. Your culture, your behavior, your mentality, your character, your haughtiness, your arrogance, your false pride, your denial, your collective stupidity and ignorance, your way of life which I find boring, empty and distasteful, your accent which is an affront to my ears...and to my senses.

I do not like you. Full stop.
