Here in the US, large corporations have consolidated production, squeezing out smaller-scale farms. According to the USDA, the nation lost more than 13,000 farms between 2006 and 2007, and the average size of the remaining farms continues to rise. The large factory farms that replace small-scale family farms may not support their local communities financially or culturally, may not provide living-wage jobs, and are more likely to use toxic chemicals and create vast monocultures. In this environment, small-scale farmers often have difficulty connecting with markets for their harvest.

Tags: food, food security, local food, locavore

<clipSource>http://www.greenamericatoday.org/tools/print.cfm?page=/pubs/realgreen/articles/food.cfm</clipSource>

The Elite Bilderberg Group Is Going To Give Us An Economic Depression

clipped by: gmentgen
clipper's remarks: Just when we thought that the world economic conditions couldn't get worst . . .

Clip Source: www.prisonplanet.com

Leaked Agenda: Bilderberg Group Plans Economic Depression

On the eve of the 2009 Bilderberg Group conference, which is due to be held May 14-17 at the 5 star Nafsika Astir Palace Hotel in Vouliagmeni, Greece, investigative reporter Daniel Estulin has uncovered shocking details of what the elitists plan to do with the economy over the course of the next year.

According to Estulin’s sources, which have been proven highly accurate in the past, Bilderberg is divided on whether to put into motion, “Either a prolonged, agonizing depression that dooms the world to decades of stagnation, decline and poverty … or an intense-but-shorter depression that paves the way for a new sustainable economic world order, with less sovereignty but more efficiency.”

Tags: bilderberg group, depression

<clipSource>http://www.prisonplanet.com/leaked-agenda-bilderberg-group-plans-economic-depression.html</clipSource>

Oh My Gawd . . . href="http://www.naturalnews.com/health.html">health agencies that are
supposed to be serving the public to now claim that a person can "safely" eat
13.6 mg of melamine per

planet is over.

If you have a big mortgage and car payments, what would you do if you were laid off for a year or more? My advice is to get out from under your mortgage while you still can. Invest in some good black dirt in a community of like-minded people. You are better off in a yurt on good land that you own than you are in a house or apartment that you don’t own.

In a steady-state economy, society focuses on more noble goals than economic
