Wikipedia bans Church of Scientology

Exclusive In an unprecedented effort to crack down on self-serving edits, the Wikipedia supreme court has banned contributions from all IP addresses owned or operated by the Church of Scientology and its associates.

Closing out the longest-running court case in Wikiland history, the site’s Arbitration Committee voted 10 to 0 (with one abstention) in favor of the move, which takes effect immediately.

Why do I need an appraisal?

There are many reasons why you might need an home appraisal; the main reason the bank will require a home inspection is to secure financing and obtain a mortgage. However, there are many other reasons to get an appraisal. For example, you might get a home appraisal to lower your property taxes (to remedy a high assessment), or you might need an inspection for insurance purposes (you would need to increase your insurance coverage to cover an increase in the value of your home).
Another reason for a real estate appraisal is to determine compensation for condemnation or to establish the value of an estate when one of the owners dies.

Scientists Debunk a Favorite Denier Claim about Climate Change

A favorite claim of the climate change deniers is to point out that in Medieval times, the Vikings built farms in Greenland and Europe was in a warm spell. That, they claim, is evidence that modern global warming is just natural climate variation.

In the latest issue of the journal Science, scientists put that claim to rest.

Using natural records going back about 1,000 years, the scientists were able to pinpoint causes of Europe's Medieval warm spell, and they can show that the mechanisms responsible for warmer temperatures in Europe then are not causing the warming seen today.

“Those conditions are by far not enough to explain the global warmth we are experiencing,” Trouet said.

“By using two drought-sensitive records from remote regions, we were able to reconstruct the mechanism that explains temperature for central Europe,” Trouet said.

I was browsing the Blog Oh Blog site and unexpectedly found an interesting periodic table - A periodic table of famous websites! Since I still consider myself a neophyte on online writing and SEO, seeing this periodic table gave me a quick orientation to the different websites that I should make myself familiar with.

What I was excited to learn about was the sites for webcomics. I was just wondering a few minutes before I stumbled upon this picture, where I can read webcomics, and now I know.
