Britney Spears comeback single Womanizer unleashed

Britney Spears' comeback single Womanizer, from her upcoming album Circus, has debuted - again.

After a rather embarrassing false start last week, the track hit U.S. airwaves on Friday - days after Spears' record company Jive moved the single's official release date, due to some genius leaking the song online.

The short, hideously-poor-quality recording of Brit Brit's Womanizer was played by a U.S. radio station DJ last week, as well as being published on its website. The singer's record company pulled a face and the track was subsequently yanked.

According to MTV.com, Jive says the 37-second clip was probably made after a rep for the record company played the track to the station during a phone call. The rest is history.

Granted, you've all probably listened to this track at least a million times already (actually, if you have, you need help...more on that later), but humour me.

A young woman, Marnie Watson, is granted early release from her prison sentence for manslaughter (killing her husband - a violent NYC cop - in self defense) on condition she wear an electronic ankle bracelet and remain within her home, effectively under house arrest, for the remainder of her sentence. Her late husband’s partner keeps tabs on her from a patrol car parked across the street, hoping she’ll violate probation and he can send her back to prison. But the 100-foot radius her ankle bracelet allows isn’t the worst of her problems. Her dead husband —now a malevolent ghost—is still in the house, where he died — intent on savage revenge.

GOOGLING "Britney Spears" just now yielded 98,600,000 hits; googling " President Bush," 44,600,000. Makes you wonder what's wrong with this planet, doesn't it?

Nevertheless, here's one more contribution to Google: Britney Spears -- pop princess or pop pariah -- has listed her Beverly Hills Post Office home for $7.9 million.

The house is in a gated community and has six bedrooms and 6 1/2 bathrooms in about 7,500 square feet. There's a wet bar, a library, a den, high ceilings and stone and mosaic tile floors. The master bedroom has a fireplace and a loggia. Then there's the pool, spa and arbor.

It is being offered for sale partly furnished and decorated.

This is the house that Spears was wrenched from in January as part of a well-executed LAPD plan to skirt the paparazzi and have the singer involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center.
