clipper's remarks: For some reason this question has been bugging me -- what's the origin of that little brass fanfare that we all (in the U.S.) recognize as the theme music to the Olympics? Turns out it was written in 1958 by composer Leo Arnaud as part of a film score.

Leo Arnaud or Léo Arnaud (July 24, 1904 – April 26, 1991) (IPA: [ˈleɪ.oʊ ɑɹ.ˈnoʊ]) was a French-American composer of film scores, best known for scoring Bugler's Dream, which is used as the theme for the Olympic Games.

"Bugler's Dream" is very well-known, especially by Americans, as theme music for the Olympic Games from its use in ABC's and NBC's television coverage of the games. It is considered to be a symbol of the Olympics. Arnaud's piece is very stately, beginning with a timpani cadence that is soon joined by a distinctive theme in brass.

For the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, composer John Williams wrote "Olympic Fanfare and Theme," which is often played in a medley with "Bugler's Dream."

What is JukeFly?

If you have a large music collection like I do, you may realize what a pain it is to be able to truly access your music from work or on the go. I have an iPod and it’s a wonderful device and works great on planes, trains and automobiles. When I’m sitting in front of a real computer though, I would rather access my music from that than a tiny 2″ screen. This doesn’t even count the fact that all my music doesn’t fit on my iPod.

So we thought to ourselves, lets create a really flashy interface to access your music in a very clean secure way from any computer in the world with a browser.

Where is JukeFly going from here? Internet Radio support, better access to your friends music, more social features, song lyrics, music videos, and some more radical ideas that we’re keeping a tight lid on until we’re ready!

Computer Randomly Plays Classical Music

SUMMARY

During normal operation or in Safe mode, your computer may play "Fur Elise" or "It's a Small, Small World" seemingly at random. This is an indication sent to the PC speaker from the computer's BIOS that the CPU fan is failing or has failed, or that the power supply voltages have drifted out of tolerance. This is a design feature of a detection circuit and system BIOSes developed by Award/Unicore from 1997 on.

Although these symptoms may appear to be virus-like, they are the result of an electronic hardware monitoring component of the motherboard and BIOS. You may want to have your computer checked or serviced.
