Clipmarks BLOCK feature- BAD IDEA

clipper's remarks: Firstly, the BLOCK feature didn't come from Clipmarks, it was suggested by one of the uysers here and I have already spoken with him about it. If I am not mistaken, he has regrets he ever mentioned it.

Secondly, and as I have pointed out before, the ONLY people using the BLOCK feature here are those who would abuse it's intended purpose. Because they are dumb enough to believe they can 'squash' opposing viewpoints is laughable at best. So here for your viewing displeasure is what just one of the recent clippers has accused me of- The user (debbyski) accuses me of being a LIAR outright (not too smart of you) and I present my clip and corresponding screenshots mentioned in the clip. If your going to be stupid enough to call someone a liar make sure you have your facts correct. Otherwise it makes you look pathetic. cptenaud your next.

I took no great pride in saving this clip to my 'collection' but did so for archival purposes. And I also checked the boxes on the 'email comments' on this clip. And took lots of screenshots.

I was actually quite ashamed of the clip in general and took quite a few screenshots for future reference (in case it vanished or was deleted). I did email the link to a U.S. Senator who was equally disgusted. And for the record, this clip appeared @ 7:28 am (with 135 views already) with a clip by Eric Goldstein@ 8:10am (with 64 views already). So nobody can say that it had not been seen by him.

The hypocritical part is leaving the clip up for so long before deciding that 'it was inappropriate'.

Don't pride yourself on this clip, it was nothing to write home to mother about, or let Eric Goldsteins children (or anyone elses)see.

And not only are you a hypocrite Nappy; you are a LIAR and a terrible one at that. For that, you are banned from commenting on any of my clips.

Good riddence.

Do animals understand death? Do humans?

While reading the papers this morning my eye was caught by the striking images of Gana, an 11-year old gorilla living at Munster zoo, Germany, holding her dead baby aloft.

According to all the news stories I've read, this photo demonstrates that she is grieving - feeling the same emotions as we would in these circumstances. Really? Or is this just rampant anthropomorphism?

But others have argued that foisting human emotions onto animals is unscientific. Just because animals sometimes behave like us does not mean that the same complex cognitive reasoning underlies these behaviours.

It seems to me that the question here is not do animals experience grief, so much as do they understand death? And, while I'm on that subject, do humans even understand death?

Science tells us that death is pretty much the end of the story in terms of human experience. But there are plenty of examples of human behaviour that seem to fly in the face of this.

A man who was paralyzed below the waist 20 years ago is walking again, thanks to a robotic “exoskeleton” that moves his legs and can even navigate up and down hills. The inventors of the device, dubbed the ReWalk, say the experimental technology can give paraplegics a psychological boost through renewed mobility, and can also help people avoid medical problems caused by long-term wheelchair use.

One of the first paraplegics to test out the device is Radi Kaiof, a former Israeli paratrooper who has been paralysed for the last 20 years following an injury during his service in the Israeli military. He says the device has changed his life. “I never dreamed I would walk again. After I was wounded, I forgot what it’s like.
