If you want to truly live life, to really experience it, to enjoy it to the fullest, instead of barely scraping by and only living a life of existence, then you need to find ways to break free from the mold and drink from life.

Love

Get outside

Savor food

Create a morning ritual

Take chances

Follow excitement

Find your passion

Get out of your cubicle

Turn off the TV

Pull away from Internet

Travel

Rediscover what's important

Eliminate everything else

Exercise

Be positive

Open your heart

Kiss in the rain

Face your fears

When you suffer, suffer

Slow down

Tags: personal development, self improvement, mlf

<clipSource>http://www.dumblittleman.com/2007/06/39-ways-to-live-and-not-merely-exist.html</clipSource>

10 Goals Worth Pursuing

clipped by:

1.

Personal Development

The single best investment any of us can ever make

Excellent Physical Health

Your body impacts everything you do. Take good care
of it through proper nourishment, exercise and rest.

3.

Rest, Relaxation and Renewal

We must take good care of ourselves without feeling
						  guilty.

4.

Building a Loving Family

Family is the emotional core of our lives. We should
make constant deposits into everyone's emotional bank
						  account.

5.

Intimate Relationships With Your Friends

Surround yourself with nourishing friends. Share
yourself with them and let them share themselves with
						  you.

6.

Involvement In Your Community

The definition of a life well lived must include
						  a commitment to serving others.

7.

Excellence in Your Work

Develop a reputation for excellence. A sincere commitment
to excellence is a noble goal.

8.

Financial Freedom

Money is important. Exercise wisdom in all your financial
						  dealings.

9.

A Comfortable, Loving Home

The single biggest investment most of us will ever
make should be comfortable and lined with love.

10.

Peace of Mind

Until recently, received wisdom had it that we are born with a full complement of neurons and produce no new ones during our lifetime. Fred Gage from the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California, busted that myth in 2000 when he showed that even adults can grow new brain cells. He also found that exercise is one of the best ways to achieve this.

In mice, at least, the brain-building effects of exercise are strongest in the hippocampus, which is involved with learning and memory. This also happens to be the brain region that is damaged by elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol. So if you are feeling frazzled, do your brain a favour and go for a run.

Tags: vežbanje, exercise, mozak, brain

<clipSource>http://www.newscientist.com/channel/being-human/mg18625011.900</clipSource>

Tips for Sleeping Well

clipped by: pumpkinismine

Clip Source: health.yahoo.com

Sleep Tight All Night
Quality of sleep is as important as the quantity of sleep. Often we think we sleep for eight hours, but unless we are getting good quality REM sleep, which is when the body truly rests, we will awake feeling as if we hadn't slept at all. Here are the ways to be sure you are getting quality sleep:

1. Do not eat late. Your last meal should be no later than seven in the evening.

2. Do not exercise just before bed. You should engage in no strenuous exercise for at least two hours before bed.

3. There should be no pets in the bedroom. Sleeping with pets often causes restless sleep.

4. You might try this sitting meditation a half an hour before bed: Sit comfortably at the edge of a firm seat with your back erect and your head tilted slightly downwards. Place your arms gently over your lap and breathe slowly, deliberately, and gently. Keep your eyes slightly closed. Do this for 15-20 minutes.

Tags: heath, sleep

<clipSource>http://health.yahoo.com/experts/drmao/218/improve-your-sleepwith-a-bedroom-makeover</clipSource>

Ten Habits of Highly Effective Brains

clipped by: Perkalicious11

Clip Source: www.sharpbrains.com

Clip Source: www.sharpbrains.com

let's review some good lifestyle options we can follow to maintain, and improve, our vibrant brains.

Learn what is the "It" in "Use It or Lose It"

Take care of your nutrition. morning. The inevitable morning mishaps will be less stressful.

      2. Prepare for the morning the evening before. Set the breakfast
table. Make lunches. Put out the clothes you plan to wear, etc.

      3. Don't rely on your memory. Write down appointment times, when
to pick up the laundry, when library books are due, etc. ("The palest
ink is better than the most retentive memory."- Old Chinese Proverb)

      4. Do nothing you have to lie about later.

      7. Be prepared to wait. A paperback book can make a wait in a post
      office line almost pleasant.

      8. Procrastination is stressful. Whatever you want to do tomorrow,
do today; whatever you want to do today, do it now.

      14. Relax your standards. The world will not end if the grass doesn't
      get mowed this weekend.

      15. Pollyanna-Power! For every one thing that goes wrong, there are
probably 10 or 50 or 100 blessings. Count 'em!

      17. Say "No!" Saying no to extra projects, social activities
and invitations you know you don't have the time or energy for takes practice,
self-respect and a belief that everyone, everyday, needs quiet time to relax
      and to be alone.

      20. Simplify, simplify, simplify.

      21. Make friends with nonworriers. Chronic worrywarts are contagious.

      26. Monitor your body for stress signs. If your stomach muscles are
knotted and your breathing is shallow, relax your muscles and take some
      deep, slow breaths.

      28. Do this yoga exercise when you need to relax: Inhale through
your nose to the count of eight. Pucker your lips and exhale slowly to the
count of 16. Concentrate on the long sighing sound and feel the tension
      dissolve. Repeat 10 times.

      29. Visualize success before any experience you fear. Take time to
go over every part of the event in your mind. Imagine how great you will
look, and how well you will present yourself.

      37. Do a favor for someone every day.

      39. Looking good makes you feel better.

      41. Be flexible. Some things are not worth perfection.

Tags: stress, life, lists

<clipSource>http://www.lungusa.org/site/pp.asp?c=dvLUK9O0E&b=40327</clipSource>

Tips for Coping with Anxiety

clipped by: kwonsu

Clip Source: healthresources.caremark.com

Here are some tips from the American Academy of Family Physicians on coping with anxiety:

Control your worry. Pick a place and time to do your worrying. Make it the same time and same place every day. Spend 30 minutes thinking about your concerns and what you can do about them. Try not to dwell on what "might" happen. Focus more on what's really happening.

You can learn ways to help you relax. These may include muscle relaxation, yoga, biofeedback, and deep breathing

Confront the things that have made you anxious in the past. Start by just picturing yourself confronting these things. After you begin to feel more comfortable envisioning that, you can begin to actually face them.

Label the level of your fear from zero to 10 and watch it go up and down. Still, Alex Tew, a 21-year-old who came up with the idea, is now a millionaire.

2. SantaMail

Ok, how’s that for a brilliant idea. Get a postal address at North Pole, Alaska, pretend you are Santa Claus and charge parents 10 bucks for every letter you send to their kids? Well, Byron Reese sent over 200000 letters since the start of the business in 2001, which makes him a couple million dollars richer. Full Story

3. Doggles

Create goggles for dogs and sell them online? Boy, this IS the dumbest idea for a business. How in the world did they manage to become millionaires and have shops all over the world with that one? Beyond me.

4. LaserMonks

LaserMonks.com is a for-profit subsidiary of the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Spring Bank, an eight-monk monastery in the hills of Monroe County, 90 miles northwest of Madison. Yeah, real monks refilling your cartridges. Hallelujah! Their 2005 sales were $2.5 million! Praise the Lord. Full Story

5. AntennaBalls

You can’t sell antenna ball online. There is no way. And surely it wouldn’t make you rich. But this is exactly what Jason Wall did, and now he is now a millionaire. Full Story

6. FitDeck

Create a deck of cards featuring exercise routines, and sell it online for $18.95. Sounds like a disaster idea to me. But former Navy SEAL and fitness instructor Phil Black reported last year sales of $4.7 million. Surely beats what military pays.

7. PositivesDating.Com

How would you like to go on a date with an HIV positive person? Paul Graves and Brandon Koechlin thought that someone would, so they created a dating site for HIV positive folks last year. Projected 2006 sales are $110,000, and the two hope to have 50,000 members by their two-year mark.

Tags: rich, stupid, business, internet, strategy

<clipSource>http://nichegeek.com/10_totally_stupid_online_business_ideas_that_made_someone_rich</clipSource>

Negative Calorie Foods: 15 Foods That Actually Burn More Calories Than They Contain

clipped by: sam.reckoner
clipper's remarks: eat more raw fruits and vegetables.

Clip Source: www.businesscreditcards.com

Negative Calorie Foods: 15 Foods That Actually Burn More Calories Than They Contain

Celery: A staple on most party veggie trays, celery (without the ranch dressing) is a crispy snack that you can enjoy without worrying about taking in any calories. It is the command and control center running your life. It is involved in absolutely everything you do. Your brain determines how you think, how you feel, how you act, and how well you get along with other people. Your brain even determines the kind of person you are. It determines how thoughtful you are; how polite or how rude you are. It determines how well you think on your feet, and it is involved with how well you do at work and with your family. Your brain also influences your emotional well being and how well you do with the opposite sex.

Your brain is more complicated than any computer we can imagine. Did you know that you have one hundred billion nerve cells in your brain, and every nerve cell has many connections to other nerve cells? In fact, your brain has more connections in it than there are stars in the universe! Optimizing your brain’s function is essential to being the best you can be, whether at work, in leisure, or in your relationships.

It’s simple, your brain is at the center of everything you do, all you feel and think, and every nuance of how you relate to people. It’s both the supercomputer that runs your complex life and the tender organ that houses your soul. And while you may run, lift weights, or do yoga to keep your body in good condition, chances are you ignore your brain and trust it to do its job.

No matter what your age, mental exercise has a global, positive effect on the brain. So, here are 22 ways to boost your brain power:

1.
