clipper's remarks: We may now safely conclude that whomever leads in green technology will certainly trail the world in economic development. Especially when leading the way means we discard energy sources that are reliable and affordable. By doing so, we ensure less money in the pockets of individuals.

Cap and trade will be an embedded tax in everything from the car we drive, to the A/C that keeps us cool, to the gas we use to operate vehicles, to the food we eat, to the very air we breathe. All industries that make things or produce things (including food) emit carbon. Therefore, everything is subject to this program, and the “little guy” pays for it all in the end.

What do these politicians in the House of Representatives hope to achieve through this bill? Reduce emissions and save the planet we assume. Why then, are we emulating the European Union’s famed ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme), which actually saw emissions RISE by 1.9% from 2005 to 2008? Could it be that our politicians are not REALLY

On Friday, June 26th, the United States House of Representatives passed the Waxman-Markey bill, commonly known as cap and trade. We know that this bill will force our energy rates to “skyrocket”, as President Obama promised on the campaign trail. We know that cap and trade does little or nothing to help the environment. We know that cap and trade will send millions of jobs overseas…to countries like China and India that are among the worst polluters in the world. We know everything there is to know about the cap and trade program, including that it will cost the average American household over $3,000 a year in higher energy costs, gas prices, and so on. But perhaps the most important information gleaned from the passage of this bill, is that we now know that there are 211 Democrats and 8 Republicans with fanatical and fascist inclinations.

After all, they’ll continue to ensure they take care of themselves, and mostly at taxpayer expense. We shouldn’t forget that, after all, some people in the New America are “more equal” than others.

Few acts could rival the hostility toward the American people and American prosperity than this abomination of a bill passed by the House on Friday.

We have come to the previously unimaginable point where it is abundantly clear that the American government is overtly hostile toward it’s own people.

Thank God the American people are starting to wake up to this despicable reality, as evidenced by the Tea Party movement. We have our work cut out for us, in stopping the destructive work of these domestic enemies now, and permanently removing them from office in the upcoming rounds of elections.

Report: Cap and Trade Bill Bringing Refinery Closures

Well, that didn’t take long. I hope the socialists in the U.S. House of Representatives who voted for the biggest tax in U.S. history on Friday are happy.

America’s biggest oil companies will probably cope with U.S. carbon legislation by closing fuel plants, cutting capital spending and increasing imports.

“It will lead to the opportunity for foreign sources to bring in transportation fuels at a lower cost, which will have an adverse impact to our industry, potential shutdown of refineries and investment and, ultimately, employment,” Mulva said in a June 16 interview in Detroit. Houston-based ConocoPhillips has the second-largest U.S. refining capacity.

These stupid carbon permits aimed to fix a problem that doesn’t exist are expected to add 77 cents to every gallon of gas.

4. Race and Gender. Not what is said but who says it and about whom reveals racism and sexism. For example, an Hispanic female judge isn't being offensive if she states that Latinas are inherently better judges than white males.

5. Random violence. Some assassinations represent larger American pathologies, but others do not. When a crazed lone gunman murders someone outside the Holocaust Museum or shoots an abortion doctor, we should worry about growing right-wing and Christian extremism. But when an African-American Muslim convert brags about his murder of a military recruitment officer or an Islamic group plots to kill Jews and blow up a military jet, these are largely isolated incidents without larger relevance.

Understanding the Age of Obama

Are you confused by all that has changed since President Barack Obama took office in January? If so, you're not alone. Perhaps, though, this handy guide to Age of Obama "logic" might be of some assistance.

1. The Budget. Wanting to cut $17 billion from the budget, as President Obama has promised, is proof of financial responsibility. Borrowing $1.84 trillion this year for new programs is "stimulus." The old phrase "out-of-control spending" is inoperative.

2. Unemployment. The number of jobs theoretically saved, or created, by new government policies - not the actual percentage of Americans out of work, or the total number of jobs lost - is now the far better indicator of unemployment.

Obama: U.S. ready for possible N.Korea missile launch

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States military is prepared for the possibility that North Korea may attempt to launch a missile toward Hawaii, President Barack Obama said in remarks released on Sunday.

"This administration -- and our military -- is fully prepared for any contingencies," Obama said in an interview with CBS television when asked about reported North Korean intentions to fire a missile toward Hawaii on or about July 4.

Pressed on whether his comments were a warning of a military response, Obama said no.

"It's just we are prepared for any contingencies," he said. "I don't want to speculate on hypotheticals. But I do want to give assurances to the American people that the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted in terms of what might happen."

Even if we achieve these two very important goals, it will take a tremendous amount of time and effort to undo the damage this moron and his lackeys in congress have already caused.

Our ONLY hope of reversing some of this is in the 2010 elections next year. If we have any hope we must replace the members of Congress who simply rubber-stamp Obama’s schemes, cut the purse-strings and the money hemorrhaging will stop!

In spite of what our current president and congressional leaders think, I know America is still the greatest country on earth. I do not believe America has one damn thing to apologize for, to anyone in the world. It is sickening to listen to President Obama continually offer gratuitous apologies for imagined wrongs America has committed, at least in the mind of Obama. Obama cheapens America and he denigrates the presidency.

Obama is the result of his upbringing, he is Chicago politics, he is William Ayers, he is Rev. Wright, he is Saul Alinsky, he is everything America does not stand for, and he is self-absorbed with his own popularity and his unrelenting desire to ‘change’ America even at the risk of destroying it economically.

It seems today is also the 25th anniversary of Tetris, a Soviet video game. I had never heard of Tetris, but apparently it is much more significant than the sacrifices made on Omaha Beach, at least from Google's point of view.

Halliburton said she filled out an application but deliberately didn't sign it.

"I wanted to see if they would put a forgery," she said.

Later, Halliburton said, she learned from a co-worker that someone submitted the application and forged her signature.

She could not, however, identify the ACORN worker who approached her.

Givner, who is charged with forging that signature and faces a trial on that charge, did not testify. According to court records, Givner told investigators ACORN fired her because she did not meet her assigned quota of 22 daily voter registrations.

Allegheny reform association fires canvassers for not achieving quotas

A former ACORN employee on Friday contended the organization had a quota system requiring canvassers to register 20 to 25 voters a day when she worked for the group during the 2008 election.

Others held for trial yesterday were Eric L. Jones, 20, of East Hills, Alexis Givner, 23, of West Mifflin and Mario Grisom, 28, of North Point Breeze. All face charges of forgery, obstruction and election law violations.

In a news conference held while the hearings were under way, ACORN officials and labor union representatives said the charges were politically motivated and an attempt to stymie the organization's efforts to get low-income and minority residents involved in the political process.

"We helped to get 35,000 people registered to vote," said Hazel Hastings, an ACORN organizer and supervisor during last year's campaign. She labeled the charges of fraud "completely ridiculous."

After all, this is the same group that couldn't count to "1" when registering voters during last year's election. In Ohio, ACORN's machine registered one man more than 70 separate times. But the group's critics don't face the same mathematical challenges. They have counted to at least 14 - the number of states investigating ACORN for voter registration and potential voter fraud. In the past month alone, the group has been named in complaints by at least two states.

Exhibit A here is the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, now under investigation in at least 14 states for voter registration fraud.

Earlier this month, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., sponsored an amendment to the $140 million Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act. The Frank measure allowed organizations being investigated by state or federal authorities on corruption charges to receive federal funds as long as they avoid conviction.

Frank argued that his amendment, which was approved by the House, protected the presumption of innocence in federal spending. But federal ethics rules have long stipulated that either an actual or apparent conflict of interest can put a government employee at risk of prosecution for ethics violations.

Yet Another Bogus "Terror" Plot

The Nation -- By the now, it's maddeningly familiar. A scary terrorist plot is announced. Then it's revealed that the suspects are a hapless bunch of ne'er-do-wells or run-of-the-mill thugs without the slightest connection to any terrorists at all, never mind to Al Qaeda. Finally, the last piece of the puzzle: the entire plot is revealed to have been cooked up by a scummy government agent-provocateur.

I've seen this movie before.

In this case, the alleged perps -- Onta Williams, James Cromitie, David Williams, and Laguerre Payen -- were losers, ex-cons, drug addicts. Al Qaeda they're not. Without the assistance of the agent who entrapped them, they would never have dreamed of committing political violence, nor would they have had the slightest idea about where to acquire plastic explosives or a Stinger missile. That didn't stop prosecutors from acting as if they'd captured Osama bin Laden himself. Noted the Los Angeles Times:
