Women jailed for 'indecent' beach acts

TWO foreign women have been jailed for a month for kissing and fondling each other and engaging in "indecent acts" on a public beach in Dubai.

The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the one-month jail sentence handed down by a lower court to the women, a 30-year-old Lebanese national and a 36-year-old Bulgarian who both pleaded not guilty, 7Days newspaper said.

They will be deported after serving their sentences.

clipper's remarks: Firstly, the BLOCK feature didn't come from Clipmarks, it was suggested by one of the uysers here and I have already spoken with him about it. If I am not mistaken, he has regrets he ever mentioned it.

Secondly, and as I have pointed out before, the ONLY people using the BLOCK feature here are those who would abuse it's intended purpose. Because they are dumb enough to believe they can 'squash' opposing viewpoints is laughable at best. So here for your viewing displeasure is what just one of the recent clippers has accused me of- The user (debbyski) accuses me of being a LIAR outright (not too smart of you) and I present my clip and corresponding screenshots mentioned in the clip. If your going to be stupid enough to call someone a liar make sure you have your facts correct. Otherwise it makes you look pathetic. cptenaud your next.

I took no great pride in saving this clip to my 'collection' but did so for archival purposes. And I also checked the boxes on the 'email comments' on this clip. And took lots of screenshots.

I was actually quite ashamed of the clip in general and took quite a few screenshots for future reference (in case it vanished or was deleted). I did email the link to a U.S. Senator who was equally disgusted. And for the record, this clip appeared @ 7:28 am (with 135 views already) with a clip by Eric Goldstein@ 8:10am (with 64 views already). So nobody can say that it had not been seen by him.

The hypocritical part is leaving the clip up for so long before deciding that 'it was inappropriate'.

Don't pride yourself on this clip, it was nothing to write home to mother about, or let Eric Goldsteins children (or anyone elses)see.

And not only are you a hypocrite Nappy; you are a LIAR and a terrible one at that. For that, you are banned from commenting on any of my clips.

Good riddence.

I could never adequately convey how impressed, inspired and grateful i am for the collective contributions of the people who share the content, thoughts, opinion, passion and perspective that gets mixed together here on clipmarks.com. I think it's truly remarkable.

I have come to discover that Clipmarks is a truly international gathering of individuals who share their personal news from around the world...and by making the clips public, open up a forum for interesting discussion and debate.

Conservatives Claim "Liberal Media."

clipper's remarks: A) We do not have a liberal media; it's a corporate controlled media. The lack of coverage of the fine speeches of the war protest groups this week at the RNC, for example, shows the media bias.

There IS massive opposition the the war; the news just doesn't cover it.

Claiming "liberal media," is propaganda.

B)Though our American media does like to zoom in on the crotch of teenage girls who have sex that doesn't mean they are "liberal," but rather just a degenerate example of a decaying civilization that thinks this is "News."

In fact, Obama (a so-called, 'liberal,') was Very Clear: "Leave familes out of our politics, esp. the children of candidates."

Any parent knows that no matter what they do or say their kids might screw around or screw up. This IS the prevailing reaction of real people along with what Obama said.

The Republicans are playing this up deliberately.

it does show the flaw, though, of Palin's sex ed idea of teaching ONLY abstinence as sex ed.

Peru's first 'visionary' editor

Doris Gibson, who 58 years ago founded Peru's leading news magazine, has died at the age of 98. Her strength of character and determination helped the magazine withstand military dictatorships and repressive governments, as Dan Collyns reports.

Soon afterwards, the magazine was shut down for the first time. It was to be the first of eight closures, most of them during another military dictatorship in the 1970s of General Juan Velasco.

The magazine was going to be called Caras y Caretas - faces and masks - but as Peru was under a military dictatorship at the time they decided to call it just Caretas to symbolise the repression they were living under.
