Unfortunately, we have recently become increasingly concerned that the site has become overly antagonistic and inappropriately controlled by a disproportionately loud group of users. In all honesty, we no longer feel that the processes of our site are producing a unique, high quality blend of content. Instead, the magical blending of diverse topics on the Clipmarks home page has seemed to dissolve into a battleground for extremely hostile politically oriented users who are overwhelming the rest of the site. Because of this we are working on making some fundamental changes to the way the Clipmarks site works. We will do our best to make changes that improve the site and will continue to iterate until we are comfortable that it is just right.

Sara Palin's selection as John McCain's VP running mate is intended to end badly within the next two to three weeks as part of a devious Republican strategy. The McCain/Republcan strategy never intended for Palin to run the full course of the campaign and most likely not more than two weeks past the end of the Republican National Convention.

I have been in contact with a source that has previously provided reliable information on several issues. The strategy is outlined below, which is a combination of informed speculation and quietly-passed information:

(1) The McCain campaign has long ago quietly picked their VP running mate intended to be on the ticket in November.

(2) Palin has been selected as a "trojan horse" target for vocal political firebrands to have a veritable field day.

(5) Key McCain operatives, acting as "insider informants", will spill minor tidbits from "inside" the campaign organization to help fuel the negative Palin speculation.

Reptile shock for Rio drug police

Brazilian police say they have seized two caimans - small alligator-like reptiles - during an operation against drug traffickers in Rio de Janeiro.

Women jailed for 'indecent' beach acts

TWO foreign women have been jailed for a month for kissing and fondling each other and engaging in "indecent acts" on a public beach in Dubai.

The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the one-month jail sentence handed down by a lower court to the women, a 30-year-old Lebanese national and a 36-year-old Bulgarian who both pleaded not guilty, 7Days newspaper said.

They will be deported after serving their sentences.

Then again "my guy" and I were responsible enough to use birth control before marriage and until we were able to afford any children. Of course Palin will help out daughter with the affording part, so it's all good baby. I remember listening to the priest before we got married giving us the big talk about the "rhythm" method; and I was thinking I can't wait to get my rhythm on later baby and I bet he can't either!

Putin saves TV crew from Siberian tiger

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was feted by Russian media on Sunday for saving a television crew from an attack by a Siberian tiger in the wilds of the Far East.

Here's the good news: Women have become so politically powerful that even the anti-feminist right wing -- the folks with a headlock on the Republican Party -- are trying to appease the gender gap with a first-ever female vice president. We owe this to women -- and to many men too -- who have picketed, gone on hunger strikes or confronted violence at the polls so women can vote.

But here is even better news: It won't work. This isn't the first time a boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him and opposes everything most other women want and need. Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life more fair for women everywhere. It's not about a piece of the existing pie; there are too many of us for that. It's about baking a new pie.

She is exploiting her daughter's misfortune in order to use her to make her anti-abortion point to the extreme right-wing of the Republican party. Is Sarah Palin ready to take the mantle of worst mother of the year from Lynne Spears? Has Todd Palin wrestled the title of worst father from Billy Ray Cyrus?

Sarah Palin may be running for Vice President but is she any different from the woman who sold the story of her daughter Jamie Lynn's pregnancy to a magazine for $1 million, or from the father that allowed 15-year-old Miley Cyrus to be photographed semi-nude for Vanity Fair supposedly to further her career?

Despite her supposed "Family Values" credentials, she and her husband Todd are being just as exploitative of her teenage daughter, Bristol, as any of these celebrity parents have been. Actually, even more so.

They took center stage with the full knowledge that their 17-year-old's five-months-along pregnancy was about to become front page news around the world.

She has unwittingly and literally become the poster child for her mother's anti-choice and abstinence-only education policies.

We agree completely that Washington is in desperate need of renewal and reform. We’re not even going to quibble about the fact that Barack Obama said it first. Desperate to prove that Sarah Palin has "national security" credentials, many McCain supporters have turned to her experience "commanding" the Alaska National Guard during her 21 months as governor of the state.

Of course, while these yo-yos might actually believe this nonsense, at bottom it's a pathetic, hail Mary stretch. Let McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds explain exactly why that is (with a little help from CNN's Campbell Brown):

Here's the deal: First off, Sarah Palin plays no role as the commander of the Alaska National Guard outside of the state. She never has, she never will. The actual commander--Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell--said so himself:

clipper's remarks: Firstly, the BLOCK feature didn't come from Clipmarks, it was suggested by one of the uysers here and I have already spoken with him about it. If I am not mistaken, he has regrets he ever mentioned it.

Secondly, and as I have pointed out before, the ONLY people using the BLOCK feature here are those who would abuse it's intended purpose. Because they are dumb enough to believe they can 'squash' opposing viewpoints is laughable at best. So here for your viewing displeasure is what just one of the recent clippers has accused me of- The user (debbyski) accuses me of being a LIAR outright (not too smart of you) and I present my clip and corresponding screenshots mentioned in the clip. If your going to be stupid enough to call someone a liar make sure you have your facts correct. Otherwise it makes you look pathetic. cptenaud your next.

No Debbyski-

I took no great pride in saving this clip to my 'collection' but did so for archival purposes. And I also checked the boxes on the 'email comments' on this clip. And took lots of screenshots.

I was actually quite ashamed of the clip in general and took quite a few screenshots for future reference (in case it vanished or was deleted). I did email the link to a U.S. Senator who was equally disgusted. And for the record, this clip appeared @ 7:28 am (with 135 views already) with a clip by Eric Goldstein@ 8:10am (with 64 views already). So nobody can say that it had not been seen by him.

The hypocritical part is leaving the clip up for so long before deciding that 'it was inappropriate'.

Don't pride yourself on this clip, it was nothing to write home to mother about, or let Eric Goldsteins children (or anyone elses)see.

And not only are you a hypocrite Nappy; you are a LIAR and a terrible one at that. For that, you are banned from commenting on any of my clips.

Good riddence.

ScienceDaily (Sep. 2, 2008) — Researchers in Canada report discovery of unusual proteins in a small group of Kenyan sex workers that appear to be associated with resistance to infection with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

The discovery could lead to the improved design of vaccines and drugs to fight the deadly virus, which infects an estimated 40 million people worldwide, the scientists say in a new report.

The scientists used a high-tech analytical method to compare differences among proteins in vaginal fluids from HIV-resistant women and those infected with the virus or susceptible to it. HIV-resistant women had proteins significantly different from other women. Vaginal fluids of the HIV-resistant women had higher levels of proteins with anti-viral and anti-inflammatory actions.

Ex-boxing champ shot dead in smoking dispute

LONDON (Reuters) - Former British heavyweight boxing champion James Oyebola was shot in the neck in a nightclub after asking a group of men to stop smoking, a court heard Tuesday. Prosecutor Jeremy Donne told the Old Bailey that the boxer died after the "senseless" shooting at the Chateau 6 club in Fulham, west London, in July 2007.

He never regained consciousness after being hit in the neck and leg and died in hospital four days later when doctors switched off his life-support machine.

The Nigerian-born, 6ft 9" boxer won the UK heavyweight title in 1994 and the bronze medal at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, where he lost to Lennox Lewis in the semi-finals.

Four men are on trial for his murder: Cyle Carth, 18; Dean Francis, 24; Rene McKoy, 20 and Kanyanta Mulenga, 23, all from south London. They deny murder and affray.
