Clipmarks BLOCK feature- BAD IDEA

clipper's remarks: Firstly, the BLOCK feature didn't come from Clipmarks, it was suggested by one of the uysers here and I have already spoken with him about it. If I am not mistaken, he has regrets he ever mentioned it.

Secondly, and as I have pointed out before, the ONLY people using the BLOCK feature here are those who would abuse it's intended purpose. Because they are dumb enough to believe they can 'squash' opposing viewpoints is laughable at best. So here for your viewing displeasure is what just one of the recent clippers has accused me of- The user (debbyski) accuses me of being a LIAR outright (not too smart of you) and I present my clip and corresponding screenshots mentioned in the clip. If your going to be stupid enough to call someone a liar make sure you have your facts correct. Otherwise it makes you look pathetic. cptenaud your next.

No Debbyski-

I took no great pride in saving this clip to my 'collection' but did so for archival purposes. And I also checked the boxes on the 'email comments' on this clip. And took lots of screenshots.

I was actually quite ashamed of the clip in general and took quite a few screenshots for future reference (in case it vanished or was deleted). I did email the link to a U.S. Senator who was equally disgusted. And for the record, this clip appeared @ 7:28 am (with 135 views already) with a clip by Eric Goldstein@ 8:10am (with 64 views already). So nobody can say that it had not been seen by him.

The hypocritical part is leaving the clip up for so long before deciding that 'it was inappropriate'.

Don't pride yourself on this clip, it was nothing to write home to mother about, or let Eric Goldsteins children (or anyone elses)see.

And not only are you a hypocrite Nappy; you are a LIAR and a terrible one at that. For that, you are banned from commenting on any of my clips.

Good riddence.

Unfortunately, we have recently become increasingly concerned that the site has become overly antagonistic and inappropriately controlled by a disproportionately loud group of users. In all honesty, we no longer feel that the processes of our site are producing a unique, high quality blend of content. Instead, the magical blending of diverse topics on the Clipmarks home page has seemed to dissolve into a battleground for extremely hostile politically oriented users who are overwhelming the rest of the site. Because of this we are working on making some fundamental changes to the way the Clipmarks site works. We will do our best to make changes that improve the site and will continue to iterate until we are comfortable that it is just right.

Sarah Palin has a pregnant teenager. And, she’s not alone. According to a report published in 2007, there are more than 400,000 other American girls in the same predicament.

If there is a shame here, it’s a national shame — a failure of our puritanical society to accept and deal with the facts. Teenagers have sex. How often and how safely depends on how much knowledge and support they have. Crossing our fingers that they won’t cross the line is not an intelligent strategy.

To wit, our ridiculous experiment in abstinence-only education seems to be winding down with a study finding that it didn’t work. States are opting out of it. Parents don’t like it either.

We need to take some bold steps beyond the borders of our moralizing and discomfort and create a sex education infrastructure that actually acknowledges reality and protects our children from unwanted pregnancies, or worse.

It's that moment when the woman of the week
gets 'it'. That moment when she loves her body, loves herself, sees the
beauty standing there in the body she is currently living in.

No surgery. No painful diets. Not even exercise unless the woman
chooses to firm up the 'wobbly bits', as the host, Gok Wan calls them. I
understand there is a U.S. version of this show but I love Gok. He
genuinely sees the beauty of a woman and reflects it back to them until
they see it for themselves. That is a powerful moment.

One reason I love this show so much is because distorted body image
is a pet peeve of mine. I struggle with it myself although not so much
lately. As I've grown older I've learned to appreciate this body that holds me, providing protection for my heart and soul.

We're made to feel afraid and less than by the marketing
images all around us. We're afraid to look different, smell different
or even act in our own best interest when it might make us stand out

Conflict-of-interest disputes often turn on arcane points of law, but that is hardly the case with the controversy over the West Virginia Supreme Court and Massey Energy.

Massey’s chief executive spent an extraordinary $3 million to help elect a state justice who then voted to throw out a major damage award against the company.

The West Virginia Supreme Court first tossed out the $50 million verdict against Massey Energy in 2007. But it decided to rehear the case after photos surfaced of a different justice — Chief Justice Elliott Maynard — vacationing in Monte Carlo with Massey’s chief executive, Don Blankenship, while the case was pending.

The chief justice disqualified himself from the rehearing, as did another justice, who had publicly criticized Mr. Blankenship and his firm.

The court once again ruled in Massey’s favor.
