Besides sex -- other reasons men cheat

In a new study conducted by marriage counselor M. Gary Neuman, it's estimated that one in 2.7 men will cheat -- and most of their wives will never know about it.

Gary surveyed hundreds of faithful and cheating husbands to uncover the real reason some men stray.

What's the number one reason men cheat? Ninety-two percent of men said it wasn't primarily about the sex.

"The majority said it was an emotional disconnection, specifically a sense of feeling underappreciated. A lack of thoughtful gestures," Gary says. "Men are very emotional beings. They just don't look like that. Or they don't seem like that. Or they don't tell you that."

"We get married because we want one person in the world to really think we're wonderful for doing all the things that we do. We all want the same thing," he says.

I was already aware of how the 2-party system is used to contain revolution in most "democratic" countries. But I was very impressed with the way that Alex sketched it out in simple, easy-to-understand terms.

It is very important for us all to realise that we are living under a simple but clever system that has been designed to contain revolution whilst projecting the illusion of being a free, fair and open democracy. The 2-party system provides firm support for the elite to implement their agenda from the top down, whilst the ordinary people at the grassroots level squabble between themselves over which political party is the best. In reality, it doesn't matter which of the two parties you vote for because the same agenda will unfold regardless. Hence, both parties are controlled at the very top by the same force.

I just heard fineman say that the "that one" statement wasn't racial. I am a 54 year old white guy that grew up in NC and the rule was when you couldn't say N*****, you just said "that one" (or more acurately, that'n). Lots of people won't get that this was racist and like the comments I heard on the show wrtie this off as an old guy. Old guys grew up in a racist America and this is what is normal to them This is a note from a Texas newspaper from a week or so ago.

Virtual reality set to transform physiotherapy

Patients who need physiotherapy following a stroke or accident could soon be put through their paces in a virtual reality environment.

A researcher at the University of Portsmouth is creating a rehabilitation programme that places patients on a treadmill and into a virtual world. It works by using moving images to trick the patient’s brain into thinking he or she is walking more slowly than they are which in turn encourages them to walk faster and further.

People booed at the mention of his name. McCain, visibly angry, stopped them: "I want EVERYONE to be respectful, and lets make sure we are."

McCain told her there's a "difference between record and rhetoric, and I plan to talk about his record, respectfully... I don't mean that has to reduce your ferocity, I just mean it has to be respectful."

And then later, again, someone dangled a great big piece of low-hanging fruit in front of McCain: "I'm scared to bring up my child in a world where Barack Obama is president."

John McCain on Friday moved to calm rising anger among his supporters at rival Barack Obama, calling him a decent man and at one point taking the microphone away from a woman who'd called Obama an Arab.

Their anger apparently still at flash point, McCain's supporters then booed him for his conciliatory words about Obama.

Increasingly angry, supporters of McCain and running mate Sarah Palin have responded at rallies with loud cries of "terrorist" and "traitor."

But when one man said he was scared to raise his unborn child in a country that might be led by a President Obama, McCain disagreed.

Later, another supporter told McCain, "I don't trust Obama...He's an Arab."

McCain stood shaking his head as she spoke, then quickly took the microphone from her.

A lifelong, talented musician, Justin Dillon skirted the fringes of success without making it "big." Despite having always been a conscious student of world affairs, filmmaking was never in his blood – or at least so he thought. Yet a 2003 show in Russia opened his eyes to the globe’s most overlooked social issue: human slavery, which, as revealed by his subsequent documentary debut, is more prevalent now than ever.

Due for national release on Oct. 10, "Call + Response" emotionally provokes its audience into action. Perhaps, too, Dillon’s creative, personal journey which brought politicians, musicians, academics and film stars together and included a global trek into slavery’s crannies, represents the ascendancy of one man from a solitary decrier of injustice into an agent of positive change.

So if we, collectively with power and money, demand slave-free products or services, we can effect change.

The homeland security mania has invited some startling abuses of police power, but we have yet to hear of any more knuckle-headed than one in Maryland.

The citizens had merely joined gatherings opposed to the Iraq war and capital punishment. Yet they were listed as terrorists three years ago on criminal intelligence rolls. “On the contrary, the groups were determined not to violate the law,” Stephen Sachs, the former Maryland attorney general, took pains to point out in a blistering report concluding that the runaway program violated constitutional rights and federal regulations.

It should make any American wonder what else is out there in the way of misbegotten police programs.

The 300 hours of surveillance devoted to data-smearing outspoken citizens was aptly described in the report as “an instructive example of the abuses that can result when the mere invocation of ‘terrorism’ is understood to override constitutional protections.”
