 For
those indulging in cyber terrorism, the new legislation provides for stiff
penalty of life imprisonment. The bill also says that dishonestly receiving
stolen computer resource, identity theft, cheating by personation by using
computer resource and violation of privacy will result in imprisonment upto
three years apart from fine between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10
lakh.

DELHI: Consumers will soon be able to make STD calls as cheap as 10-40 paise and
possibly make free local calls from their computers. Telecom regulator TRAI on
Monday removed all curbs on internet telephony in the country, allowing internet
service providers (ISPs) to terminate internet telephony calls on phones,
including mobiles.

Despite the ban, the application works, because once installed, Skype is almost impossible to block.  It uses encrypted tunnels, file transfers and instant messaging sessions, all of which are undetectable without filtering. AP Connections CTO Art Reisman set up a computer lab experiment to try and detect Skype traffic whizzing between two PCs. His analysis, according to an interview with Zdnet: &lt;I&gt;'When examining the stream I failed to see any human discernible call set up, so without prior knowledge of a call being made I could never be certain if what I was seeing was a Skype call.'&lt;/I&gt;
