例如在媒体娱乐领域：该技术可被应用于演出、会展以及数字电影、体育场或楼身广告大屏幕等。而在基建与公用事业领域，则可被应用于能源、电力、水利、石油天然气的监视中心，或者通信行业的控制中心、空中交通管制、航空领域等。此外，该技术还可被用于医疗影像显示、港口与航运管理、国防安全（如公安系统应急指挥中心、情报处理系统等）、教育与培训（如模拟仿真、驾驶员模拟器）、虚拟现实3D（如环幕或球幕的三维影像）、形象展示（如高档会议现场、演讲会场等）、工业与流程控制（可24小时不间断应用，且性能稳定）等。

深圳雅图公司董事长助理金德新则预测，未来中国的投影市场将出现消费市场和专业市场“齐头并进”的良好场面。其中，专业市场（主要应用于电子手写板、拼接墙、数字影院放映机等）将向高端、低端两极发展：大尺寸、高分辨率，以及便携式、低成本的投影机均将受到市场欢迎。

专家预测，未来的投影显示将趋向行业细分，并且投影显示器将向亮度越来越好、性能更加可靠、外观更加时尚、操作更加简便、价格越来越低等趋势发展。(深圳商报 )

Google Gadgets used to be for Google pages. That has now changed.

Now you can checkout the gadgets and download code to put on your own sites.

Google Gadgets for the whole web has a few limitations, which gadget authors should be aware of when writing gadgets for third-party webpages. To ensure that your gadget will support distribution across the web, take note of these important facts:

Make sure your gadget supports 200-pixel content widths for placement on third-party web pages. While Google Personalized Homepage gadgets have an average width of 250 pixels, assume third-party web pages will have even smaller widths. Otherwise, you may start receiving complaint emails about annoying horizontal scroll bars.

You cannot store data or state for gadgets embedded on third-party web pages. If your gadget contains code to do so, it will silently fail.

Inlined gadgets cannot be added to third-party web pages, and will not appear in our directory of gadgets for your webpage.

Since inlined gadgets are not supported, embedded gadgets cannot modify third-party webpages for obvious reasons.

The widget/gadget/components keep growing.

“今又生”——安全有效从根源上治疗肿瘤的基因药物

　　人民网深圳10月22日电记者胡谋报道：记者从今天下午深圳市政府召开的新闻发布会上获悉，“今又生”（Gendicine）是深圳市赛百诺基因技术有限公司拥有自主知识产权的一种广谱的肿瘤基因治疗制品。目前，在临床上使用“今又生”已治疗了头颈部肿瘤等多种不同的肿瘤。

　　“今又生”由5型腺病毒载体DNA和人p53肿瘤抑制基因重组，形成有活性的基因工程重组腺病毒颗粒。其结构由两部分组成：一是抑癌基因，称之位p53基因，人类50%以上的肿瘤与p53基因的变异有关；第二部分是载体，源于腺病毒DNA，可以有效地将治病的p53基因转入肿瘤细胞内。基因与载体的关系，类似卫星与火箭的关系，就像火箭把卫星射向天空一样，病毒载体把基因导入人体细胞。注射“今又生”，可特异地引起肿瘤细胞死亡，而对正常细胞无损伤作用。

　　肿瘤实际是一种基因病，肿瘤的发生和发展与基因的改变有关，因此基因治疗针对的是肿瘤发生的根源。而目前已知的104种肿瘤中至少有56种恶性肿瘤都是因为p53发生突变引起的。p53是一种抑制肿瘤的基因，是细胞内关键的“看家基因”，可影响多种基因的表达，调节细胞生长，防止细胞癌变。高表达的p53蛋白质能有效刺激机体的特异性抗肿瘤免疫反应，杀伤肿瘤细胞。

　　临床试验结果表明“今又生”使用安全，疗效显著。由于“今又生”属缺陷性重组腺病毒，在体内对细胞只发生一次性感染，不能繁殖，因此使用安全性高。腺病毒DNA不整合到人细胞基因组中，无长期毒性。

　　自1998年12月，“重组人p53腺病毒”治疗恶性肿瘤的研究进入临床试验阶段，临床试验表明，只有约32%病人出现Ⅰ/Ⅱ度自限性发热，一般持续约3小时后自动消退，未见其它副反应，也没有一例病人发生过敏反应。北京同仁医院对参加Ⅰ期临床试验的12例中晚期喉癌病人进行了3年随访工作，这12位病人经基因治疗3年多来，无一人复发。而中晚期喉癌常规手术治疗后三年的复发率达30.2%。

Unlike with dual-boot and other virtualization options, no Windows operating system license is needed

Codeweavers has released the public beta version of CrossOver Mac, the firm's virtualization software that lets Intel-based Macs run Windows applications -- without having Windows installed.

Based on the open-source project WINE, CrossOver Mac provides the ability to run Windows applications and some games on the Mac without having to reboot or switch to a virtual machine interface -- applications appear in the same Finder interface that Mac users are accustomed to. Because it's based on WINE, which translates Windows-specific code references to other operating systems' technology, no Windows operating system license is needed in order to get CrossOver to work.

By comparison, Boot Camp, Apple's Windows-enabling software for Intel Macs, requires you to install a copy of Windows. Similarly, Parallels Desktop for Mac needs a Windows operating system (or other PC-compatible operating system) in order to operate.

Codeweavers advises that CrossOver Mac's public beta "will give you a taste," but "should be considered an early test release." The developers promise "substantial further improvements" before the production version ships. In other words, unless you're willing to tolerate issues that sometimes pop up with experimental software, "you should skip this and wait for notice of the production release."

The CrossOver Mac public beta is a 60-day version. Users interested in placing a pre-order can, for a reduced price of $39.95.

Yeah, I’m going to talk about Opera 9 again, and about “secret” features. Since Opera 9, we’ve had support for Server-Sent Events from the Web Applications 1.0 spec. Quoting the entry we just published in the Opera Web Applications blog

One cool feature we added to Opera 9 is Server-Sent Events from the WHATWG Web Applications 1.0 specification. Using SSE you can push DOM events continously from your web server to the visitor’s browser. This creates a lot of exciting opportunities for web application authors.

As an approach for building Ajax applications wanting near realtime data from the server, this approach is superior: No ugly hacks in the client-side code, just DOM events. After having added an <event-source> element to your markup, you simply set up an event listener on the element::

Easy, simple and clean. Which is the same on the server. We have built a neat little demo IRC-like chat client that is open for testing. The server is built on Twisted, an event-driven networking framework written in Python. During initial testing we tried to put the server through pure, unadulterated load abuse, but were unable to bring it down, which says something about the advantages for this approach on the server as well.

　　松下电器将于2006年10月1日推出美容器“EH2493”（通称为ION STERMER NANO CARE PLATINA）等2种新款，使用含有铂离子团的蒸汽，赋予肌肤活性和弹性。预定EH2493的市场价格为3万日元左右。该公司的蒸汽式美容器年供货量一直在增加，预计2006年度将达上年度的1.5倍，约30万部。

　　该公司2004年推出的产品使用直径300nm的蒸汽颗粒。新产品在同样粒子尺寸的蒸汽中，添加了“具有抗氧化作用，而受化妆品瞩目”的铂，增强了美容效果。铂离子团的直径为1～5nm，与蒸汽一起渗透到皮肤深层，使肌肤富有活性和弹力。

Oki Electric announced that it has provided Pantech,a major mobile phone company in South Korea, with FaceSensingEnginge, Oki’s face image processing middleware to be used in their mobile phones.

SKY IM-R100 is Pantech’s first mobile phone to be equipped with Oki’s FSE. When taking a picture, the FSE automatically controls the camera direction based on the facial feature tracking function, and always adjusts the face to the middle of the screen. In addition, FSE can synthesize images in real-time synchronized to facial movements, and can save the result as a photo using the image synthesis function.

The FSE achieves one of the fastest processing times in the industry for face detection, facial feature detection and tracking functions. It detects facial features in 115msec, a ARM9 200MHz-level processing performance, and tracks facial feature tracking in 35msec. Thus, it best suits applications that require quick response. The FSE includes a processing algorithm that is not easily affected by brightness, thus enabling users to use it in various situations whether indoors or outdoors. Oki’s FSE provides facial recognition by extracting the amount of personal characteristics of the face image and comparing and verifying them to previously registered data. www.pantech.com www.oki.com

Taiwan-based Accton Technology is expected to begin volume shipments of its Skype-enabled Wi-Fi phones to two of its subsidiaries, Edge-Core and SMC Networks, as well as US-based Belkin in August, according to sources at Accton.

On July 20, Skype announced that its hardware partners will start delivering four Skype software-enabled Wi-Fi phones: Belkin's F1PP000GN-SK, Edge-Core's WM4201, SMC's WSKP100 and Netgear's SPH101.

Based on Accton's product roadmap, Accton will start volume production of Skype Wi-Fi phones in August, with the first consignment to total around tens of thousand units, the sources indicated.

Meanwhile, Netgear and its hardware partner are still trying to overcome some technology problems related to its Skype Wi-Fi phone, according to market sources, who predicted that Netgear will be able to start delivering its SPH101 Skype Wi-Fi phones by the end of this year.

In addition to the four brands of Skype Wi-Fi phones announced in July, Taiwan-based Wistron NeWeb is also likely to tie up with Skype to develop Skype-enabled Wi-Fi phones, said the sources.
