See, the other day Jim Fiore posted a clip of a TV news reporter defending Palin's foreign policy experience by saying that Alaska was next to Russia. Then today Cindy McCain makes the same argument to George Stephanopoulos. I have also seen this argument pop up in a number of forums. So here is my question - and remember this is for Republicans only.

If John McCain had picked, oh, say, a chimpanzee, such as the nice looking one pictured below, for his running mate:

Would you now be citing passages from Frans de Waal's Chimpanzee Politics to justify his choice? I may sound flip, but seriously, I want an answer.

Tags: society

<clipSource>http://scienceblogs.com/afarensis/2008/08/31/a_question_for_republicans/</clipSource>

Dealing with Difficult People

clipped by: dakotayii
clipper's remarks: In other words, please FUCK OFF and leave me alone and I am not saying a thing. Fitna the Movie Dutch (official release march 27, 2008)
Update 4:45pm Eastern : And so the inevitable occurs. Liveleak has pulled "Fitna" from its site (via Allahpundit )…
Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly lead to the harm of some of our staff, Liveleak.com has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers.
This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else.

The following conversation ensues:
Man: "I am 92 years old, have a wonderful wife of 70 years, many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Yesterday, I picked up two college girls, hitchhiking. We went to a motel, where I had sex with each of them three times."
Priest: "Are you sorry for your sins?"
Man: "What sins?"
Priest: "What kind of a Catholic are you?"
Man: "I'm Jewish."
Priest: "Why are you telling me all this?"
Man: "I'm 92 years old ... I'm telling everybody."

Clip Source: losangeles.craigslist.org

A married Irishman went into the confessional and said to his priest, "I almost had an affair with another woman."
The priest said, "What do you mean, almost?"
The Irishman said, "Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped."
The priest said, "Rubbing together is the same as putting it in. You're not to see that woman again.
For your penance, say five Hail Mary's and put $50 in the poor box."
The Irishman left the confessional, said his prayers, and then walked over to the poor box.
He paused for a moment and then started to leave.
The priest, who was watching, quickly ran over to him saying, "I saw that you didn't put any money in the poor box!"

The Irishman replied, "Yeah, but I rubbed the $50 on the box, and according to you, that's the same as putting it in!"

Tags: humor

<clipSource>http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/rnr/581068908.html</clipSource>

Backscratcher shirt

clipped by: dakotayii
clipper's remarks:

Back Scratcher’s T-Shirt

* The fast and logical solution to infernal itching
The friend (or partner) who offers to scratch your back is a friend (or partner) indeed. Except it all goes horribly wrong when they just can’t seem to locate the maddening itch. For those who are fed up of saying, ‘left a bit… up a bit… right a bit… damn!’ comes a very special T-shirt, complete with Battleships style, itch-locater grid. The scratchee is also equipped with a hand-held miniature corresponding grid-map, for accurate communication. So when the scratcher says, ‘I’m scratching F5, ‘ the scratchee can say, ‘try G7′.

Clip Source: blameitonthevoices.blogspot.com

Tags: humor

<clipSource>http://blameitonthevoices.blogspot.com/2007/09/backscratcher-shirt.html</clipSource>

% of population w/less than 9 years of Education

clipped by: dakotayii
clipper's remarks: I am surprise by the number in my state , it's sad. Even as science and religion have quarrelled for centuries and are only recently exploring ways to kiss and make up, mathematicians have been saying for millennia that no truer expression of the divine can be found than in an ethereally beautiful equation, formula or proof.

The New York Times reported recently that mathematicians believe in God at a rate 2 1/2 times that of biologists, quoting a survey of the National Academy of Sciences.

Tags: news

<clipSource>http://www.thestar.com/News/article/297564</clipSource>

Israel asks Beatles to 'let it be' after 1965 brush-off

clipped by: tabsey
clipper's remarks: A trip to the birthday bash may see the Fab Four reunited.
I wouldn't go to your funeral but you can come to my birthday.

Clip Source: www.abc.net.au

Israel is asking the Beatles to "Let It Be", apologising for cancelling their concert four decades ago and asking surviving members of the legendary band to play at the nation's 60th birthday bash.

Israel plans to deliver letters of apology to the two surviving members of the British group and relatives of the deceased members for cancelling a concert in 1965, an official at Israel's London embassy said.

"We would like to take this opportunity to rectify a historic missed opportunity which unfortunately took place in 1965 when you were invited to Israel," the mass-selling Yediot Aharonot quoted the letter as saying.

"Unfortunately the state of Israel cancelled your performance in the country due to lack of budget and because several politicians in the Knesset had believed at the time that your performance might corrupt the minds of the Israeli youth."

Tags: odd, very

<clipSource>http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/01/29/2148334.htm</clipSource>

Don't treat the old and unhealthy, say doctors

clipped by: dakotayii
clipper's remarks: IMO the word "FREE" is the most useless word . LONDON:
If you are a male and lack the ability to attract females, then simply get a
happy-looking woman to accompany you, for a new study has found that men in the
company of smiling women are likely to catch the fancy of other
females.

However, the study
also suggests that other men may view them as a
threat.

According to
psychologists, the copycat behaviour among women is because they do not have
confidence in their own
judgment.

"If a female has
difficulty choosing the best male, she can help herself by seeing how rivals
behave," the Mirror quoted Dr Benedict Jones, of Aberdeen University, as
saying.
