Training kids to use the big potty is always a bit of a “crapshoot”, isn’t it. I was lucky that a high school girl at daycare was able to teach my kids in about two days — so I never had to mess with the details. But keeping them interested in sitting on the potty can be tricky!

Here’s a perfect toddler toilet training accessory - and why not let them learn two skills at once? Sit them on the seat. When they make their business bells and whistles go off with a jackpot sound. I wish I were kidding….and yeah, I’m still searching to see if there is an adult version. A perfect dinner party conversation piece.

The shaved bumblebee

My younger brother, “T,” is an assistant manager at a store. The store’s “owner” is a man named “Bob,” who is the stereotype of the “obnoxious, self-absorbed egotistic boss.”

The idea was hatched in early January to make him think his house was built on Indian burial grounds, the rest of the month was planning the stages, and then I started.

I also gave Bob a copy of a brief history of some made-up Indian tribe (the Picardatee, yay Star Trek).

In March, Bob started having T mow his lawn

I had him yellow the grass in three grave-sized rectangles

I would go over just when it was dark and stand at the edge of the woods blowing a dog whistle. His little shitzu would start flipping out at the back door

In April, I escalated again

I’d go over and leave muddy footprints on his back patio.

June rolled around, and I amped up the creep factor.
