NY Chef Creates A $1,000 Bagel

A New York chef has come up with a luxury version of one of the city's staple foods -- the $1,000 bagel.

The pricey bagel, that is topped with white truffle cream cheese and goji berry infused Riesling jelly with golden leaves, joins a list of $1,000 delicacies in Manhattan that includes an ice-cream sundae topped with a 23-karat edible gold leaf and a pizza topped with six kinds of caviar and lobster.

The bagel is the creation of chef Frank Tujague of The Westin New York hotel at Times Square and was designed in part to help raise funds for Les Amis d'Escoffier Scholarship which provides scholarships to students of the culinary arts.

The ultimate hero in "Heroes"

It is my belief that there is a hero more powerful than all the other heroes combined, including Sylar and Peter Petrelli.

This hero is Mr. Muggles.

Mr. Muggles has survived an encounter, completely unscathed, with the two most dangerous characters on the show: Sylar and the radioactive man.

Matt has psychic powers, but cannot read Mr. Muggle's thoughts.

In episode 15, Claire's mom recognizes Mr. Muggles as a threat and Claire discovers her in the kitchen screaming at him in horror. Minutes later, Claire's mom appears to forget the incident and becomes complacent and loving (Mr. Muggles erasing her memory?).

Mr. Muggles is immortalized in a painting hanging in the Bennets' home. Loving gesture...or the work of Issac Mendez? You decide.

Mr. Muggles appears to be the loving center of the Bennet family that ties them together, possibly representing the disfunctional unity of the heroes.

You're hanging out with your six-year-old in his room while he quietly draws a boat on his MagnaDoodle.

The boy stops drawing for a moment, looks right at you and says: "HERE'S THE IMPORTANT QUESTION: What part of the mommy does the baby come out of?"

I just told him, "If you want to know what part of the mommy it is, don't you think that's a good question for mommy? You should go ask her right now."

For being woken up sick, out of a sound sleep to hear "What part of the mommy does the baby come out of?", she gave an excellent answer. She just coughed up a little phlegm and told him, "The baby grows in a part called the womb and when the baby is ready, he comes out through the birth canal." My son was pleased with that answer, came back in and finished his boat. My wife went back to sleep and everyone was happy.

Now here's the even more important question: How do we keep the mommy from reading this, so as not to restrict DADDY'S access to the birth canal?

A derivative is walking down the street and sees a hot function.

So he grabs her, takes her into the bushes and differentiates her once.

Little later he sees another function and differentiates her twice.

He goes on an sees this super hot function. really sexy.

So he grabs her and differentiates her once and nothing, differentiates her second time, still nothing.

After 10 unsuccessfull differentiations he gets tired and asks the function:

"How come i can't differentiate you???!???"

And the function answers:

"HA!! That because i'm e^x!!!"

and beats the crap out the derivative.

Saxton Freymann Gallery

Saxton Freymann is a New York artist who creates emotional animals completely out of produce. His art career began in painting, until 1997 when he paired up with publisher Joost Elfers. Freymann supplied Joost's need for "someone who could carve food beyond the rose radish table garnish". Freymann tried carving animals and discovered his new talent. By using an exacto knife, he turns bananas into octopi, a pear into a bear, or oranges expressing a variety of moods. He uses peppercorns or black-eyed peas for eyes, and beet juice or kernal corn for teeth. His inspiration comes from the produce isle. He claims each vegetable or fruit already has its own personality.
