Recent Illinois Law (PA 95-0564) provides that health care professionals report patients to the state police anyone that they believe might pose a danger to themselves or others. ISRA has learned of situations where a party has been admitted to a hospital for stress, alcohol treatment, or other scenarios where part of the admission procedure included a short interview with a psychologist on staff. Questions asked, include gun ownership, and/or the Possession of a FOID card. Within a few weeks that individual receives a notice from the Illinois State Police revoking his or her FOID.

PHOENIX -- It's one of the many good deeds for which churches are known, but now a judge has ruled that feeding the homeless is against the law. The ruling is against CrossRoads United Methodist Church in north-central Phoenix and it says that the church is operating as a charity dining hall, which breaks a city zoning ordinance.

The decision affects all churches that are located in Phoenix residential areas.

Pregnant women are to be barred from giving birth at their local hospital if midwives consider them to be too fat, it emerged today.

Mothers-to-be with a body mass index of over 34 – the equivalent of a woman of 5ft 6in weighing 15 stone - will be turned away from the unit because of fears among staff that obese patients could die there during child birth.

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is an attempt to update international law to deal with online intellectual-property violations. The negotiations concluded on Friday and the next round are scheduled for Mexico in January.

One of the proposals, according to leaks, involve a three-strikes system: three infringements and your Internet service provider (ISP) has to yank the cord from the IP address, not just the lone user. A few illegal downloads, iPhone hackings or movie uploads and an entire family could be without Internet for 12 months.

Emerging evidence suggests that although the forces generated are tiny, resonant effects allow THz waves to unzip double-stranded DNA, creating bubbles in the double strand that could significantly interfere with processes such as gene expression and DNA replication.

"Anything that interferes with DNA replication can cause cell death," said geneticist Andrew Lau. "Cell mutations and chromosomal aberrations would likely be more common once such scanners are implemented." Lau stated that the cumulative radiation would likely affect passengers in the long-term.
