The producers are not going to tell us what rules they use.

The producers use different rules for the same type game.

Games have been won on occasion with rules that do make sense.

The producers also have declared winning numbers that do seem to count by any obvious set of rules.

This is either because they counted incorrectly, or the rules are so specialized or obscure none of us in the community can figure them out.

Taken all together, one of original purposes for learning the games result (knowing what rules they use) has become moot.

This then makes the game essentially a biased number guessing game; a very rich number guessing game.

We can all complain about the idiots who waste their time and their money playing a game they have no hope of winning, but let us not forget that they are the ones who keep pushing the jackpot higher for the eventual winner.

clipper's remarks: I concur with Alan's remarks. I also wrote such a program, and I get the same results. GamesFever sometimes counts diagonals, and they sometimes don't.

I've written a program to calculate the solutions for this type of puzzle (yoyo,lulu,etc). For this one, I got 80 without diagonals, 584 with diagonals.

I think it's official now though. They keep changing the rule for this game. Sometimes the answer is without the diagonals, sometimes it's with. I'm just about done with this show...

Normally the END blocks will not be executed after the completion of a request, but only when an Apache child process exits, then if you are writing your own handlers you will need to use the register_cleanup() function to supply cleanup code similar to that used in END blocks instead of using END blocks.

Under mod_perl, the above will work only for Apache::Registry scripts. Otherwise execution of the END block will be postponed until the process terminates. If you write a handler in the Perl API use the register_cleanup() method instead. It accepts a reference to a subroutine as an argument:

The attribute given above is required for an element that you've used, but you have omitted it. For instance, in most HTML and XHTML document types the "type" attribute is required on the "script" element and the "alt" attribute is required for the "img" element.

Typical values for type are type="text/css" for <style> and type="text/javascript" for <script>.

Disabling quicknotes does not seem to effect the crashes that occur when clicking the 'write' button. I still think it is JSlib casuing the problem.
