The Honey Space, a usually unattended "no-profit" gallery in a Chelsea warehouse, asked 5 curators to select artists to create works that meet the size and weight requirements of international carry-on luggage

Yes, models and actresses are still accessorizing with little dogs, but why try to smuggle your barking purse pup through security when you could settle for convenient faux taxidermy instead?

The Honey Space's Object Salon was on display only March 26 - April 5, but how much was that doggie in the window? A cool USD $3,000 -- pedigree included, of course.

A Lancashire knitting group has eschewed their usual jumpers and blankets in favour of creating the woollen mammaries.

BfN helper Sara Cookson said that whilst the knitted boobs seem quite funny at first glance, they're actually one of their most important tools, and they would be lost without them.

She explained: "The knitted breasts allow us to demonstrate feeding in a hands-off way that people are comfortable with.

"Many mothers stop breastfeeding their babies in the first few weeks after birth. If we can help them get through this period, they can go on to successfully breastfeed."

If they were just boots pretending to be shoes, their crime would be bad enough, but as it is, these Lanvin creations are boots pretending to be... legs. Gulp.

We found these over at Carrie's Shoe Review, where they're described as "prosthetic legs" - an assessment that we can only agree with. They'll look strange enough on your legs, but can you imagine how they'll look strewn "sexily" across your bedroom floor? Imagine bringing someone home and having them wander into the bedroom only to discover what will surely look like mutilated body parts lying on the floor - scary!

Actually, come to think of it, you may not want to wear them, but they'd make an excellent Halloween prop!

Why do objects have mass? To help find out, Europe's CERN has built the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the most powerful particle accelerator yet created by humans. This May, the LHC is scheduled to start smashing protons into each other with unprecedented impact speeds. The LHC will explore the leading explanation that mass arises from ordinary particles slogging through an otherwise invisible but pervasive field of virtual Higgs particles. Were high energy colliding particles to create real Higgs bosons, the Higgs mechanism for mass creation may be bolstered. LHC will also look for micro black holes, magnetic monopoles, and explore the possibility that every type of fundamental particle we know about has a nearly invisible supersymmetric counterpart. The LHC@Home project will allow anyone with a home computer to help LHC scientists search archived LHC data for these strange beasts

Colour-blind Artist learns to Paint by Hearing

Neil Harbisson is officially the first Cyborg in Britain. The Dartington College student is completely colour-blind and has been fitted with a camera attached to a laptop, which converts colour to sound.

Neil Harbisson, 25, has been fitted with a device called an Eyeborg, which converts 360 colours into different sounds.

Now he is to mount his first London exhibition, showing city scenes such as red phone boxes in London and brightly coloured recycling banks in Barcelona.

The first device fitted to Harbisson’s head was fairly primitive, letting him “hear” only six colours. His current model is far more sophisticated, giving him access to 360 colours.

How it works

1. Lens examines colour artist is looking at

2. Computer analyses colour and calculates an equivalent sound frequency

3. Earpiece emits a noise to tell artist which colour he is looking at

4. Artist has to learn which sounds identify particular colours

A British pilot has been dismissed for “buzzing” a control tower in a Top Gun-style stunt during the maiden flight of a Boeing jumbo jet.

Captain Ian Wilkinson astonished passengers by taking the 230-tonne Cathay Pacific jet to within 28ft (8.5m) of the ground shortly after take-off from Boeing’s US manufacturing plant.

Ray Middleton, his British co-pilot, who had been unaware that the fly-by was performed without official permission, was suspended from training duties for six months.

Cathay Pacific is conducting an internal investigation and will submit a report to aviation authorities.

A Cathay Pacific pilot has claimed that Mr Wilkinson’s job was put in jeopardy only after footage of the incident appeared on the internet.

Mr Wilkinson is thought to be considering an appeal against his dismissal.

A school has been forced to remove CCTV cameras they installed in the students' toilets after furious protests from pupils and parents

Hundreds of outraged students petitioned against the cameras after they spotted them in the toilets and even refused to use the loos all day so they were not caught on CCTV.

Lipson School in Plymouth has taken down CCTV cameras in the students' toilets after protest from pupils

The cameras were installed at Lipson Community College in Plymouth, Devon, which has 1,400 pupils.

He added that there was no particular problem with toilet bullying or vandalism that would have required surveillance.

He said that no one would be disciplined over the error. "It's a learning situation, not a disciplinary one."

Lynda McTier, the assistant principal, denied that there had been any protests at the school.

"We have always had a strong reputation for encouraging students to use their voice in helping to co-ordinate the running of the college."

TOKYO (Reuters) - A Japanese man was arrested for trespassing this week after turning up at a high school dressed in a girl's uniform and a long wig, local police said.

Thirty-nine-year-old Tetsunori Nanpei told police he had bought the uniform over the Internet and put it on to take a stroll near the school in Saitama, north of Tokyo, on Wednesday, the daily Asahi Shimbun said.

When students standing outside the gates started to scream at the sight of him, he dashed inside the school grounds, hoping to blend in with the crowds of teenagers, the paper said.

They also screamed, forcing the man to flee, losing his wig in the process. A school clerk pursued him and stopped him at a nearby riverbank, the paper said.

Police confirmed the arrest of the man in school uniform and wig but declined to give further details.

(02-25) 16:34 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- An Oakland man has been arrested for allegedly shooting at two servers who chased him down the street after he and three other diners left a Fisherman's Wharf restaurant without paying, San Francisco police said Monday.

Marcel Waldron, 36, was booked Sunday night after he allegedly fired two shots at the servers who were trying to get him to pay his bill at Joe's Crab Shack at 245 Jefferson St., said Lt. Jim Spillane of the general work detail.

One of the shots grazed a waitress in the head. She was not seriously wounded.

One of the servers called 911, and police arrested Waldron a short time later. The teen was cited for resisting arrest and released. Officers are still looking for the two women.

A mechanic was arrested at gunpoint after police mistook his MP3 player for a gun.

Darren Nixon, 28, was tailed by three police cars as he travelled home from work by bus before officers confronted him in the street - 150 metres from his Stoke-on-Trent home - brandishing guns and telling him to hold his hands in the air.

Mr Nixon, a mechanic for Olympus Engineering, said: "I didn't know but someone thought I had a handgun and called the police.

"I just got on the bus and sat down to listen to my music and read the paper.

"Even when I got off the bus I didn't realise the police were pointing guns and telling me to stop, because I still had my earphones in and I wasn't looking.

"I dread to think what might have happened if I'd put my hand in my pocket.

Mr Nixon, who has no previous convictions, said: "I wasn't in custody for very long, about an hour, but they took my DNA and fingerprints.

Dramatic evidence for how easily eyewitnesses are swayed comes from a study carried out by Gary Wells and Amy Bradfield at Iowa State University (Wells & Bradfield, 1998). Like many of the best studies it is deceptively simple, but its implications for the criminal justice system are profound.

Participants were asked to watch 8 seconds of grainy security camera footage showing a man walking into a store.

After watching the video, participants were told that the man is a murderer.

Participants were then told that their job is to identify the killer from a five-person photospread. This photospread was identical to the one used in the real case except - and here's the twist - the real gunman has been removed. Having been told, though, that the gunman is in the photospread, all the participants identify one of the men.

One group of participants were given no feedback

The second were told they had made the wrong choice

The third group, though, were congratulated
