Bombshell Lawsuit: Obama Not U.S. Citizen--Democrat Files Injunction

Attorney General of PA has filed a lawsuit saying that the republicans are waiting to launch this same attack after his nomination, i.e. a justifiable legal objection he claims disqualifying Obama for President per the Constitution and the laws that applied at the time of his birth and early life.

Berg argues that Barack Obama was born in Kenya in 1961 to an American woman, Stanley Ann Dunham, and a Kenyan man, Barack Hussein Obama Senior, as reportedly shown by a birth certificate from Mombasa Maternity Hospital. According to the law at that time, a parent could pass US citizenship on to a child born abroad if the parent was at least 19 years old. Obama's mother was only 18.

No hospital birth certificate has been produced to show Obama was born in Hawaii, only a certificate of birth registry after the fact, which forensics experts have denounced as a forgery.

Lieberman ‘on McCain short-list’

Joe Lieberman, the former Democratic vice-presidential nominee who has endorsed John McCain, is being vetted as a potential running mate for the Republican presidential hopeful, according to an adviser to Mr McCain’s campaign.

Mr Lieberman, who has campaigned for the Arizona senator, has long been considered an unconventional but plausible choice for Mr McCain.

Although Democrats have rejected Mr McCain’s image as a maverick politician, Mr Lieberman’s support for the presumptive Republican nominee has, much to the chagrin of his former colleagues, helped to boost Mr McCain’s reputation as a bi-partisan legislator with friends on both sides of the aisle. Mr Lieberman, a staunch supporter of Israel, could also help Mr McCain win over Jewish voters.

“Conservatives would be pissed as hell – I think you would have a revolt, but sometimes John does what John wants to do,” the McCain adviser said.

A Surge on the Homefront?

ABC News' David Wright reports: Answering a question at the Urban League about his approach to combating crime, John McCain suggested that military strategies currently employed by US troops in Iraq could be applied to high crime neighborhoods here in the US.

McCain at first praised the crime-fighting efforts of Rudolph Giuliani when he was mayor of New York City. Then he down-shifted into an approach that sounded considerably harsher.

McCain called them tactics "somewhat like we use in the military."

"You go into neighborhoods, you clamp down, you provide a secure environment for the people that live there, and you make sure that the known criminals are kept under control," he said. "And you provide them with a stable environment and then they cooperate with law enforcement."

clipper's remarks: The Maverick is not and the "Change" candidate is shifting. Politicians are like Chameleons, changing color depending their context to fit in. Trustworthiness and forthrightness are not to be found, and considered detrimental to obtaining power, ironically, when most Americans want to reverse the present course without question, instead of simply tailoring and amending it.

Don't think the BBC article is correct about McCain however, he is shifting left, distancing from Bush, since republicans are left without an alternative (except for increasing third party candidates).

Will the real John McCain please stand up? Going into war with Iraq had nothing to do with "keeping the country I love safe", whatsoever, unless you still believe Iraq was behind 9/11 and possessed WMD. These are neoconservative wars planned in advance of 9/11 and James Woolsey and Bill Kristol (key neocon and PNAC members) are among his advisers, and his foreign policy is called "rogue state roll-back"--i.e. more wars for democracy!

New McCain Ad: "I Hate War"

John McCain's campaign has released a new 30-second television ad, "Safe," in which the presumptive GOP presidential nominee discusses his and his family's experiences in war.

According to the New York Times, Democrats believe McCain is spending $3 million or more on ads expected to begin running today. McCain is focusing on battleground states: "Democrats monitoring his spending said the commercials would run in Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada and New Mexico; beginning on Saturday, he bought time in Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania."

"Only a fool or a fraud talks tough or romantically about war," McCain, looking directly at the camera from in front of a stark black background, says in the spot.

I hate war. And I know how terrible its costs are. I'm running for President to keep the country I love safe.

Mr. Barr said Tuesday he believed Mr. Paul’s supporters should line up with him, based on the issues. “I can’t imagine that they would vote for or be supportive of any of the other candidates that are currently on the scene,” said Mr. Barr, who delivered a rousing introduction to Mr. Paul at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February.

We Illinois progressives sent Obama to the U.S. Senate, where he promptly joined the Joe Lieberman wing of the Democratic Party. He’s not a progressive. But he’s a master at pretending to be one. “Obama is a company man.”

His economic advisers are very conservative, from the University of Chicago-Milton Friedman school of economics. My favorite economist, Paul Krugman, caught Obama using right-wing talking points on what to do about Social Security and about his health care plan.

His voting record is pro-business and pro-war. He glorifies American imperialism. He flip-flopped on the Palestinians and Israel, and now is AIPAC-approved.

He misuses history, according to a prominent historian.

He, uh, stretches the truth.

His chief political adviser is a Daley machine strategist.

When are we Americans going to stop getting fooled and fooled and fooled again?

Former President Bush: Attacks on McCain's record 'absurd'

HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) -- Former President Bush endorsed John McCain on Monday and defended the conservative record of the Republican Party's presumptive presidential nominee.

"At this critical time in history ... the United States of America cannot be allowed to falter," the 41st president said in Houston, Texas. "No one is better to lead our nation in these trying times than Senator John McCain.

"I believe now is the right time for me to help John in his effort to start building the broad-based coalition it'll take for our conservative values to carry the White House this fall," the former president said.

Bush said the criticism of McCain's record by some conservatives was "absurd" and "grossly unfair."

"He's got a record that everybody can analyze in the Senate, a sound, conservative record, and yet he's not above reaching out to the other side," he said.
