This vindicates my statement about the White House denial and that it was likely Cheney who considers himself "not a part of the Executive branch", but it was drafted on White House letterhead. We now have DOCUMENTED PROOF of a conspiracy to lie and fabricate evidence for war with Iraq!--all likely headed by Dick Cheney, chief of the neoconservative Fifth Column that hijacked the government by using 9/11 as their pretext for everything.

For Cheney to use White House letterhead to order a forged letter from the CIA is also a blatant usurpation of power, making use of power that is not his ("not part of Executive branch"). Did Bush know or did Cheney act alone?

A forged letter linking Saddam Hussein to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks was ordered on White House stationery and probably came from the office of Vice President Dick Cheney, according to a new transcript of a conversation with the Central Intelligence Agency's former Deputy Chief of Clandestine Operations Robert Richer.

Suskind posted the transcript at his blog

Suskind's new book asserts that senior Bush officials ordered the CIA to forge a document "proving" that Saddam Hussein had been trying to manufacture nuclear weapons and was collaborating with al Qaeda.

On Tuesday, the White House released a statement on Richer's behalf.

The denial, however, directly contradicts Richer's own remarks in the transcript.

Iran’s top nuclear negotiator faces charges over Halliburton ties

Tehran, Iran, Jul. 29 – Iran’s judiciary has arrested several executives of a privately-owned oil drilling company over their dealings with the U.S.-based oil giant Halliburton and one of the country’s top nuclear negotiators is facing charges of involvement in an oil scam, a semi-official news agency reported.

Fars News Agency said Mehrdad Safdari, chairman of the Board of Directors of Oriental Oil Kish, and several of his collegues are being interrogated over the company’s trading.

“The authorities must be particularly vigilant about the extensive economic activities of some of the country’s officials”, he said. The source noted that “Nasseri had access to the country’s most secret information as a member of Iran’s nuclear negotiations team and was at the same time dealing directly with the American company, Halliburton, which used to be run by Dick Cheney”.

"There is a fundamental difference between relying on incorrect intelligence and deliberately painting a picture to the American people that you know is not fully accurate," said Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The report, which was supported by some Republicans but criticized by many others, accuses the president and other members of his administration of repeatedly exaggerating the evidence of an Al Qaeda connection to take advantage of the charged climate after the Sept. 11 attacks.

"In making the case for war, the administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when in reality it was unsubstantiated, contradicted, or even nonexistent," said Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. "Sadly, the Bush administration led the nation into war under false pretenses."

Vice President's Former Chief of Staff Convicted of Lying to Investigators in Plame Case

Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, was disbarred today by a District of Columbia court that ruled that his convictions last year for perjury and obstructing justice in a White House leak investigation disqualify him from practicing law.

Libby was convicted of lying to the FBI and federal investigators about whether he discussed the identity of covert CIA officer Valerie Plame with reporters in the spring and summer of 2003. At the time, according to evidence presented at trial, Cheney had instructed Libby to talk to reporters to rebut claims made by Plame's husband that the administration had twisted intelligence to justify going to war with Iraq.

"When a member of the Bar is convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude, disbarment is mandatory," the judges wrote.

Beware an Attack on Iran

Is the Bush administration ramping up for an attack on Iran? The signs seem to point in that direction. On March 11, Navy Adm. William Fallon, commander of the U.S. forces in the Middle East, retired early because of differences with Washington on Iran policy. And now, Dick Cheney's current Middle East tour may be designed to prepare our Arab allies for an imminent "preemptive" war against Iran.

They may feel that engaging the United States militarily in Iran would make it harder to elect anyone other than the seasoned military man, John McCain. The Republican presidential candidate just happens to be touring Iraq with Sen. Joe Lieberman, one of the strongest advocates of a U.S. military strike on Iran. Lieberman is likely on McCain's short list for a vice-presidential running mate.

News reports on Monday announced that Dick Cheney is on a surprise weeklong visit to Iraq, Israel, the occupied Palestinian territories, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Turkey.

The neocon blueprint he refers to in this article was written in Sept. 2000, one year prior to 9/11, the "catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor" that precisely fit their own words, perfectly, to justify execution of the plan. It's plain evidence of a conspiracy, well documented.

9/11 inquiry head 'tried to shield George Bush'

The head of the commission that investigated the Sept 11 terrorist attacks had closer ties to the White House than he admitted and tried to limit the Bush administration's responsibility for the incident, a book claims.

Philip Zelikow, the 9/11 Commission's executive director, allegedly attempted to intimidate staff to avoid findings that would be damaging to President George W Bush, who was running for re-election, and Condoleezza Rice, his then National Security Adviser.

The claims are made by Philip Shenon in The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation, published today.

Mr Zelikow told Shenon, a New York Times reporter, that he spoke to Miss Rice several times during the 20-month inquiry and also exchanged frequent calls with the White House

The book says Mr Zelikow, a former academic, once tried to push through wording in a draft report that suggested a greater tie between Osama bin Laden and Iraq

Not sure if this is based on real intelligence or Israeli propaganda. We know the neocons, headed by Cheney, wanted to attack Syria last year, when Israel was bombing Lebanon. Therefore their attack in Syrian territory was provocatory, and could indeed result in retaliation. Or, Israel could commit a false-flag attack on itself, and claim it was Syria. Thus two routes to war with Syria. Apparently only Israel is permitted to have nuclear power in the middle east. What hypocrisy.

UK paper: Dimona defenses on high alert

The defensive missile shield around Israel's nuclear facility at Dimona was placed on red alert 30 times last week out of concern over a possible Syrian air strike, the Sunday Times has reported.

The British newspaper said that a battery of US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missiles had been moved to the Negev site following intelligence that Damascus may launch a raid in retaliation for the September 6 strike on a suspected nuclear installation in northern Syria.

"Every civilian aircraft en route from Cairo to Amman, or from Jeddah to Cairo and vice versa, which deviates even slightly from its route, sets off an alarm and risks a missile being fired."

The newspaper quoted a defense source as saying: "The fact that the Syrians didn't launch an immediate strike against Israel doesn't mean that they won't retaliate in due course, Dimona is on the top of their list."

House tied in knots over resolution to impeach Cheney

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, is trying to impeach Vice President Cheney for what he describes as "high crimes and misdemeanors" before the invasion of Iraq.

Right after the proposal was read on the House floor this afternoon, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer stepped forwarded and tried to convince lawmakers to table the bill.

"Impeachment is not on our agenda. We have some major priorities. We need to focus on those," Hoyer told Fox News.
