In this breaking FOX News video they bring in a former CIA operative (from the spook archives) to do some serious Spinning to explain why Defense Secretary Gates (under both Bush and Obama) said that there has been "no hard intelligence" on Osama Bin Laden "in years"--despite all the "video tapes" and "audio tapes" released to the media (by private neocon "intelligence" firms)!

Watch him weave and dodge this public admission of the man blamed for September 11th (but now swapped for KSM, presently in New York for a 9/11 Show Trial, after being waterboarded 183 times into a "confession" as a patsy), even though the FBI has stated they have "no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to September 11th"!

Of course, after December 2001 (when Bin Laden was reported dead by FOX News also), Bush no longer cared about Bin Laden either

Controversial legislation gives police sweeping powers of 'pre-emptive' arrest and extends custodial sentences for acts of civil disobedience

The Danish parliament today passed legislation which will give police sweeping powers of "pre-emptive" arrest and extend custodial sentences for acts of civil disobedience. The "deeply worrying" law comes ahead of the UN climate talks which start on 7 December and are expected to attract thousands of activists from next week.

Under the new powers, Danish police will be able to detain people for up to 12 hours whom they suspect might break the law in the near future. Protesters could also be jailed for 40 days under the hurriedly drafted legislation dubbed by activists as the "turmoil and riot" law. The law was first announced on 18 October.

the new powers of "pre-emptive" detention would increase from 6 to 12 hours and apply to international activists.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- This January, the University of Charleston will host a forum with Massey Energy president Don Blankenship and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a well-known environmentalist.

The forum, moderated by UC President Edwin Welch, will focus on the future of coal-powered energy. The event will be held 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 in the university's Geary Auditorium.

"We are thrilled to be able to bring together two individuals who are deeply involved in this issue on the national stage," Welch said.

Welch said he doesn't want to call the forum a "debate" because he'd rather see a discussion between the participants.

"We have an educational focus, so we really want them to be conversational," he said.

Obama plans to send 34,000 more troops to Afghanistan

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama met Monday evening with his national security team to finalize a plan to dispatch some 34,000 additional U.S. troops over the next year to what he's called "a war of necessity" in Afghanistan, U.S. officials told McClatchy.

Obama is expected to announce his long-awaited decision on Dec. 1, followed by meetings on Capitol Hill aimed at winning congressional support amid opposition by some Democrats who are worried about the strain on the U.S. Treasury and whether Afghanistan has become a quagmire, the officials said.

The U.S. officials all spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the issue publicly and because, one official said, the White House is incensed by leaks on its Afghanistan policy that didn't originate in the White House.

Health Care Reform

Support for Health Care Plan Falls to New Low

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.

Half the survey was conducted before the Senate voted late Saturday to begin debate on its version of the legislation. Support for the plan was slightly lower in the half of the survey conducted after the Senate vote.

Prior to this, support for the plan had never fallen below 41%. Last week, support for the plan was at 47%. Two weeks ago, the effort was supported by 45% of voters.

Only 16% now believe passage of the plan will lead to lower health care costs. Nearly four times as many (60%) believe the plan will increase health care costs.

We do not need to wait for the "right" politicians to erect the "right" legislation to take back our inalienable rights. We people are the ultimate check against despotic government authoritarians. Effective use of trial by jury is deadly to government bureaucrats, politicians, and their henchman. It's a highly efficient and bloodless form of rebellion. Shall we take back our Liberty now?
