lori, I'm up here in Michigan and have a brother down there in Florida. We keep each other informed on the economics of each so I know things aren't too great for you guys. Michigan, with the auto industry, is always the first to go. Detroit's unemployment is 22%. Fortunatly, I live in Northern Michigan now and we get state and federal aid anyway because there isn't any industry up here. If I had known how that worked, I would have moved up here a long time ago.

I wish more Americans had an opportunity to get to know Muslims. Then they would not be susceptible to the silly anti-Muslim propaganda that is floated by some right-wing Christians.

Muslims are good folks. One fellow e-mailed me quite convinced that Muslims lop off the heads of every infidel they meet. I've been a guest in the homes of many Muslim friends, and the only thing they lopped off were extra servings of lamb.

Islam, like other religions, has different groups.

But even the most strict – commonly called fundamentalists these days – know that a Muslim is commanded to treat Jews and Christians "as I would treat myself,"

If you don't already, you should make an effort to get to know Muslims. You'll find that they don't fit the stereotypes created by mean-spirited propaganda or superficial news coverage

Racism is a monstrous injustice because it imposes a stereotype on millions of innocent individuals.

If you find the productive traditions of your nation being sucked away by third-world countries, because the cost of paying someone 28 dollars an hour to glue a sticker on an automobile - plus another 40 dollars an hour cost to the company, blame a union member.

If your country is being ransacked by fascist thugs and greedy materialists who care not one iota for a particular company, just whatever they can control or steal...thank a union member.

If state funds are depleted because trade shops keep their members on unemployment for 40% of the year, which results in staggering costs to taxpayers, then thank a union member.
