Bear Growers

This guys do a good thing. They grow bears, treat them as pets (who didn’t dream about having a bear as a pet, at least in Russia?), and then release them to the wild nature. They treat them in such a way that small bears learn to get the food by themselves and don’t trust other humans so that not to get in trouble in their future wild life.

The Tomorrow People is a children's science fiction television series

All incarnations of the show concerned the emergence of the next stage of human evolution known colloquially as Tomorrow People. Born to human parents, an apparently normal child might at some point between childhood and late adolescence experience a process called "breaking out", when they develop their special abilities. These abilities include psychic powers such as telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation.

In an interview with Psychology Today, Moby stated that when he was 19, he tried LSD and began suffering from panic attacks. He claims that he no longer experiences them as frequently as he used to, but occasionally he will "have too much caffeine, be stressed out about work and be in a relationship that's not going well, and it will happen again." He is very open about this in an attempt to help fans who suffer from similar panic disorders.^[14]

When asked about drugs, he responded: "I'm sort of a libertarian. People should be able to do what they want. I ultimately defer the wisdom to an adult to make their own choices. If someone wants to do drugs, I think it's their own business and not the business of the state."^[15]

City buses turn to sewage for 'clean' fuel

As of 2010, the new buses are due to start plying the streets of the Norwegian capital.

The biofuel, which is methane generated by fermenting sludge, will come from the Bekkelaget sewage treatment plant which handles waste from 250,000 city dwellers.

"By going to the bathroom, a person produces the equivalent of eight litres (2.1 gallons) of diesel per year. That may not seem like a lot, but multiplied by 250,000 people, that is enough to operate 80 buses for 100,000 kilometres (62,000 miles) each," Johansen says.

In addition to being carbon neutral, it emits 78 percent less nitrogen oxide and 98 percent fewer fine particles -- two causes of respiratory illnesses -- and is 92 percent less noisy.

All included, the cost of producing biofuel equivalent to one litre of diesel comes to 0.72 euros (98 cents), while diesel at the pump in Norway currently costs more than 1.0 euro.

Searching for an environmentally friendly way to produce cheap hydrogen as a fuel, researchers at Oregon State University are turning to microbes that have been doing the job for billions of years.

In a hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen combines with oxygen to give off energy and water.

The major byproduct is oxygen -- which, a couple of billion years ago, gave us a breathable atmosphere -- but the process also leaves a little bit of leftover hydrogen.

Ely and his colleagues are trying to harness blue-green algae -- a single-celled organism known as cyanobacteria -- to produce hydrogen, which the bacteria has been doing happily for the past several billion years.

The trick for researchers is to get the cyanobacteria to pay more attention to making hydrogen.

by "encapsulating" the bacteria in a solid matrix that limits growth.

they can direct the cell's energy into making hydrogen instead of the carbohydrates it would otherwise make to fuel growth.

Can you explain what Chaos-Gnosticism is please?

Just based on past experience, I'd say something out of an RPG manual.

Actually, it's a Modern theology. My understanding is that they were formed after the founder got punked by both the Church of Satan and the Temple of the Vampire for being a complete idiot.

The upshot of this is that their poorly researched cow flop has a strange blend of theistic Satanism and RPG Flavor Text.

It's hilarious.

Reporting from Jerusalem -- Two months after ending its assault on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army was confronted Thursday by the first public allegations from within its ranks of unwarranted killings and other abuses of Palestinian civilians.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak repeated Israel's traditional description of its armed forces as "the most moral in the world."

One squad leader said he argued with his commander over rules of engagement that allowed the army to clear out houses by shooting the residents without warning.

"When we entered a house, we were supposed to bust down the door and start shooting inside and just go up story by story," he was quoted as saying. "Each story, if we identify a person, we shoot them. I asked myself: 'How is this reasonable?' "

In gripping language cited by two Israeli newspapers, they appeared to support contentions by some human rights groups that Israel had violated the laws of war.
