iChat multi-track recording

I purchased Leopard this weekend and like a lot of it, but I’m confused about iChat. I understand I can record audio chats and this will help me with my podcast when recording interviews. But I experimented with this feature and iChat saves the recording as a single mono AAC file. I’d like to be able to split the recording into separate tracks, one for each person being recorded. Is there a way to do that?

Initiate the audio chat and launch GarageBand. In GarageBand create a music project. With the audio chat up and running, click GarageBand’s Record button. You’ll see an alert that asks if you’d like to record the chat. Indicate you would by clicking the appropriate button. Each person participating in the chat gains their own real instrument track, labeled with their name, in GarageBand and the recording begins. Once the chat is recorded you can do what you like with each track—adjust volume, apply effects, and export individual tracks by muting other tracks.

How to Restart Windows without restarting the Computer

When you click on the SHUTDOWN button, make sure to simultaneous press SHIFT Button. If you hold the Shift key down while clicking on SHUTDOWN button, you computer would restart without restarting the Computer. This is equivalent to term "HOT REBOOT".

Make sure you are using fast switching for user. For those who don't know here is the method :

Goto Control Panel
Double click user account
Click on change the way user log and log off, there you will make the changes by marking the two boxes.

This one is just neat: David tells me you can trigger the new Windows Flip 3D task switcher (typically triggered via the WINKEY+TAB keyboard shortcut or the "Switch between windows" shortcut in the Quick Launch toolbar) ... with your mouse, assuming you have a mouse button configuration utility. (For example, Microsoft supplies the IntelliPoint utility for its mice.) To do so, select the mouse button you'd like to use (I'm using this with the scroll wheel button) and change its button assignment to "C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe dwmapi #105" (no quotes). Voila!

The Daily Cup of Tech web site offers a nifty hint for Windows networkers out there: if you add a $ to the end of your Windows shared folder name, it won't appear when browsing the network.

So, how do you access this type of a share? If you go to Start⇒Run..., you can then type in the full UNC path to the share. So, for example, if the computer that I created the share on was called DCoT and the hidden share that I created was called Downloads$, in the run box I would enter: \\DCoT\Downloads$

Like the original post says, this isn't security, it's just a bit of obscurity. So when you want to share the MP3 folder on your office computer for the one co-worker you pal around with but don't want just anyone to stumble upon it, don't forget that dollar sign. — Gina Trapani

Dear Cats

When I say to move, it means to go someplace else, not switch positions with each other so there are still two of you in the way.

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note that placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The hallway was not designed by NASCAR and is therefore not a racetrack.

Beating me to the end is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help either,as I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will resort to sleeping on the sofa to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of cats sleeping. They can actually curl up into a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. Please note that sticking tails and tongues out to maximize space used is nothing but sarcasm.

My compact discs are not miniature Frisbees.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom.

If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, meeow, try to turn the knob, or to get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. When I exit this room, I will come out the same door I entered.

In addition, I have been using bathrooms for years. Feline attendance has never been necessary.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other cat's litter tray. I cannot stress this enough. It would be such a simple change for you.
