Recent scientific research is showing that our sense of smell is much more important in our emotional lives than we had previously known.

This research project is a new development taking inspiration from biology and the delicate delivery system of animals and insects.

It’s hard for anyone to say what music looks like, but a new
mathematical approach sees classical music as cone-shaped and jazz as
pyramid-like.

The connections between math and music are many, from the
unproven Mozart effect (the idea that playing Mozart's music to children might improve
their mathematical abilities) to the music of the spheres (the ancient belief
that proportions in the movements of the planets could be viewed as a form of
music). Now scientists have created a mathematical system for understanding
music.

An analysis of century-old bottles of absinthe — the kind once
quaffed by the likes of van Gogh and Picasso to enhance their
creativity — may end the controversy over what ingredient caused the
green liqueur's supposed mind-altering effects .

The culprit seems plain and simple: The century-old absinthe
contained about 70 percent alcohol, giving it a 140-proof kick. In
comparison, most gins, vodkas and whiskeys are just 80- to 100-proof.

But I said in the title women have only one erogenous zone. Is it her cheek? Well... yes... Touch her hip at the right time and you get the same spark. Is it the hip? Yep. Cheek, hip... what about her... uh... Definitely there. The truth guys is that a woman's erogenous zone is possibly, her entire body.

Men have one small (some smaller than others) erogenous zone. Now, I hear the experts quickly pointing to this place or that place as alternatives, but the truth is, if there is no direct stimulation to Mr. Happy and/or his pals those other places are meaningless. Sure, men like to be touched, but touch a man's cheek and the touch does not cause sexual stimulation. Why do some people seem to prefer odors that others find to be strange or downright offensive? Some of these odor preferences are based on memories or experiences from childhood.

There's no accounting for taste, or smell, in this case. Here are six intriguing, strange odors that some people love.

Pipe Smoke

This is another rather common smell preference. Many people who have a fascination with this odor had a grandfather or father who smoked a pipe and have positive memories of the experience. Pipe smoke might be a comfort idea, somewhat similar to a comfort food.

The first clothing-free workout session at a Dutch gym went ahead as planned in Heteren, eastern Netherlands, Sunday March 4, 2007, and participants and observers said it met expectations. Around a dozen middle-aged and elderly men braved the glare of nearly twice that number of journalists, including reporters, photographers and at least five television teams, to fulfill their dream of exercising naked. 'There are things that you like to do, and for a nudist, it just feels better to do them with your clothes off,' said Ron van der Putten, left, who drove for more than an hour to take part in the first session, dubbed 'Nudifit'. Rare photo of the elusive tree octopus

The Pacific Northwest tree octopus (Octopus paxarbolis) can be found in the temperate rainforests of the Olympic Peninsula on the west coast of North America. Their habitat lies on the Eastern side of the Olympic mountain range, adjacent to Hood Canal. These solitary cephalopods reach an average size (measured from arm-tip to mantle-tip,) of 30-33 cm. Unlike most other cephalopods, tree octopuses are amphibious, spending only their early life and the period of their mating season in their ancestral aquatic environment. Because of the moistness of the rainforests and specialized skin adaptations, they are able to keep from becoming desiccated for prolonged periods of time, but given the chance they would prefer resting in pooled water.

An intelligent and inquisitive being (it has the largest brain-to-body ratio for any mollusk), the tree octopus explores its arboreal world by both touch and sight. Adaptations its ancestors originally evolved in the three dimensional environment of the sea have been put to good use in the spatially complex maze of the coniferous Olympic rainforests. The challenges and richness of this environment (and the intimate way in which it interacts with it,) may account for the tree octopus's advanced behavioral development. (Some evolutionary theorists suppose that "arboreal adaptation" is what laid the groundwork in primates for the evolution of the human mind.)

Tags: tree, octopus

<clipSource>http://www.zapatopi.net/treeoctopus/</clipSource>
