It seems to me that the general form of this emerging global movement involves small local intimate personal groups that take the form often described as a "circle".

Yes, there are ideas circulating out there on their own -- many new notions, involving spirit, resonance, attunement, the one, the divine plan, etc. But all of this energy and insight seems to come together as a "movement" through the energy of the group/circle process.

So, it's my sense that the "coherence" of the global movement can or will arise through the entrainment or interlinking of local circle processes.

I am tending to suppose that GIS software -- "google earth" kinds of stuff -- could be used to map this movement as it emerges all over the world. Circles can be about anything, and define themselves any way they want. Simply based on trusting the basic goodness of human beings, and the general psychological dynamics of circle processes -- it seems to me that there is a lot of transforming power in this approach.

Circles convene the individuals in the circle towards a common center. Many circles can easily and naturally overlap, sharing an expanding common center. The power in the process comes through the center. And, I would say, internet processes like this resonance network can assist in supporting the coherence and entrainment of this process as a global movement.

The circle movement is everywhere. Here is a brief article taken from "Daily Om" a day or two ago, emphasizing the contribution of women to this process (it has been my experience that women are generally leading this awakening process, though "circles" have deep ancient roots).

So to 2006 - which LittleCo's have most impressed? In our post asking that very question, the following web apps were popular with commenters: MyBlogLog (the social networking widget featured in the sidebar of R/WW and other blogs), Meebo (web-based IM), DigitalJournal.com (social news), 30Boxes (online calendar), Zoho (web office suite), Clipmarks (social bookmarking), Netvibes (start page). Those were the ones that were mentioned more than once.

YouTube is Read/WriteWeb's LittleCo of the year, for what they achieved as a tiny startup doing big things. Ironically they are now owned by this year's BigCo of the year, Google.

A new time-gobbler has popped up on my browser. Firefox has an add-on for adding clips to clipmarks. Clipmarks allows you to share snippets of text or graphics in the same way that del.icio.us allows social bookmarking or furl.net allows you to share and store favourite pages. So now if you weren’t wasting enough time, and you were all dugg out, then the least you could do is stumble upon this new clip-sharing phenomenon.

This is a brief note about a new site that I discovered: Clipmarks.com. A write up in a paper magazine directed me to this new web app. If I had found the article online I could have used Clipmarks to save a snippet of it and mark it with tags to help me relocate it. From there, I could have shared my clipping and tags with other folks. Check this out and leave comments if you already know the site or after you have tried it on your own. I have signed up for Clipmarks but have not made much use of it. I am, howerver, already an enthusiast for del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, and Flickr.
