The self-luminous micro-particles are called Litrospheres and are said to be non-toxic and inexpensive. The light is said to be equivalent to a 20 watt incandescent bulb (lumens please?).&lt;BR /&gt;

                              &lt;P&gt;The litrospheres give off a continuous illumination, and can be designed to glow in any color. They can be injection molded or added to paint. The company that invented the material, MPK Co., predicts that first applications of Litroenergy will be in safety equipment such as safety tape and life rafts. Currently, the cost to light up a 8 ½ x 11 piece of plastic 1/8” thick is about .35 cents. &lt;EM&gt;Note: The press release says .35 cents but I think the figure is actually 35 cents. &lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

Eventually, their goal is to build a multi-kite system that could generate a full 100 megawatts.

The latest and greatest way to generate energy is to launch plates made of chromium and neodymium into orbit, which then convert 42% of solar light into lasers, which then shoots down onto a facility that converts it into clean, usable power. are working together to develop the device, which converts sunlight
into laser-light with four times the efficiency of any previous
attempt. According to a report out of Tokyo, the team is working on
Space-based solar power systems, which can collect sunlight in space
and then convert it into laser light, which is then transmitted to

Every time the owner brakes, a mini motor mounted on the front wheel generates power. According to Panasonic, charging the battery via this method alone proves to be almost impossible however.
