Classic conspiracy tale about the first manned mission to Mars. All appears to be going well until the astronauts are pulled off the ship just before launch by shadowy government types and whisked off to a film studio in the desert. It transpires that the space vehicle has a major defect which NASA just daren’t admit. At the studio, over a course of months, the astronauts are forced to act out the journey and the landing to trick the world into believing they have made the trip. Meanwhile, a Journalist (played by Gould) is getting suspicious and every clue he uncovers seems to result in an attempt on his life! The astronauts are just about to splashdown when a further twist to the tale occurs, leaving them with no choice but to try and escape…

Tags: movies

<clipSource>http://wideeyecinema.com/?p=290</clipSource>

Wag the Dog (1997)

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: wideeyecinema.com

Wag the Dog (1997)

The movie starts with a scandal at the White House where The President is accused of fondling a young girl scout visiting the Oval Office just a few weeks before an election. Being the third party observers, we know the truth, he’s guilty. Robert DeNiro plays “Conrad Brean” the spin doctor who’s job it is to engineer a way and a means to divert the news of the scandal. He brings in Hollywood producer Stanley Motts played by Dustin Hoffman to create an artificial for television only war to distract the American public and let the President get on with the job at hand, protecting the free world.

Tags: movies

<clipSource>http://wideeyecinema.com/?p=591</clipSource>

Videodrome (1983)

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: wideeyecinema.com

Videodrome (1983)

Sleazy lowlife cable TV operator Max Renn discovers a snuff broadcast called “Videodrome.” But it is more than a TV show–it’s an experiment that uses regular TV transmissions to permanently alter the viewer’s perceptions by giving them brain damage. Max is caught in the middle of the forces that created “Videodrome” and the forces that want to control it, his body itself turning into the ultimate weapon to fight this global conspiracy.

Tags: movies

<clipSource>http://wideeyecinema.com/?p=581</clipSource>

Watch Documentaries Online

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: remixmovie.com

Watch Documentaries Online

Joanna Eberhart, a wildly succesful president of a TV Network, after a series of shocking events suffers a nervous breakdown and is moved by her milquetoast of a husband, Walter, from Manhattan to the chic, upper-class and very modern planned community of Stepford, Connecticut. Once there, she makes good friends with the ascerbic Bobbie Markowitz, a Jewish writer who’s also a recovering alcoholic. Together they find out, much to their growing stupor and-then horror, that all the housewives in town are strangely blissful, and somehow… high-tech slaves. What is going on behind the closed doors of the Stepford Men’s Association and the Stepford Day Spa? Why is everything perfect here? Will it be too late for Joanna and Bobbie when they finally find out?

Tags: mind control, video, movies

<clipSource>http://wideeyecinema.com/?p=534</clipSource>

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: www.sigh7ings.com

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

An alien (Klaatu) with his mighty robot (Gort) land their spacecraft on Cold War-era Earth just after the end of World War II. They bring an important message to the planet that Klaatu wishes to tell to representatives of all nations. However, communication turns out to be difficult, so, after learning something about the natives, Klaatu decides on an alternative approach.

Tags: ufo, video, movies

<clipSource>http://www.sigh7ings.com/media/the-day-the-earth-stood-still-1951/</clipSource>

A Tale of Two Sisters

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: hollowvision.com

A Tale of Two Sisters

Two young sisters recovering from an unnamed trauma must face a mysterious past in this excellent South Korean shocker. A worldwide hit upon its release and based on an old Korean fairy tale; two sisters (wonderfully played by Su-jeong Lim and Geun-yeong Mun) come to live with their cold and distant father and turn-on-a-dime stepmother in a house where nothing is as it seems.

A wonderfully haunting score, starkly beautiful imagery, and a labyrinthine plot that twists and turns at every dark corner all set the stage for a riveting and often terrifying guessing game of a movie. Equal parts drama, mystery, and ghost story, A Tale of Two Sisters is a richly complex and challenging cinematic treat that may very well demand repeat viewings.

Tags: movies

<clipSource>http://hollowvision.com/media-2/a-tale-of-two-sisters/</clipSource>

Monty Python's And Now For Something Completely Different

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: video.google.com

Monty Python's most esoteric, FUCKING hilarious movie ever. After being thrown out of a bar for what is thought to be a trick, he tests his powers and eventually sends a policeman to Hades by accident. Worried, he sends the police officer to San Francisco, and seeks advice from the local clergyman, Mr Maydig. Maydig, after having Fotheringay’s powers demonstrated to him, quickly planning for reform of the world by means of miracle, but eventually Fotheringay orders a miracle which, due to clumsy wording, backfires. He relinquishes his power and returns to the time before he had it.

Tags: video, movies

<clipSource>http://hollowvision.com/media-2/the-man-who-could-work-miracles-1936/</clipSource>

THX 1138 (1971)

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: wideeyecinema.com

THX 1138 (1971)

Anima Mundi is a 1991 short documentary film directed by Godfrey Reggio. The film focuses on the world of nature and wildlife, particularly jungles, sealife, and insects. The movie was commissioned by Italian jewellers Bulgari for use by the World Wildlife Fund in their Biological Diversity Program.

The film was scored by Philip Glass, who also worked on Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi. Anima Mundi features many of the techniques from the Qatsi movies, and was produced in between the release of Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi, but is not considered to be related to the series.

Tags: nature, video, movies

<clipSource>http://underdogcinema.com/nature/anima-mundi-the-soul-of-the-world/</clipSource>

Powaqqatsi: Life in Transformation

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: underdogcinema.com

Powaqqatsi: Life in Transformation

Powaqqatsi: Life in Transformation is the 1988 sequel to the experimental 1982 documentary film Koyaanisqatsi, by Godfrey Reggio. It is the second film in the Qatsi trilogy.

Powaqqatsi is a Hopi word meaning “parasitic way of life” or “life in transition”. While Koyaanisqatsi focused on modern life in industrial countries, Powaqqatsi, which similarly has no dialogue, focuses more on the conflict in third world countries between traditional ways of life and the new ways of life introduced with industrialization.

Tags: video, movies

<clipSource>http://underdogcinema.com/culture/powaqqatsi-life-in-transformation/</clipSource>

Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: underdogcinema.com

Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance

Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance is a 1982 film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by minimalist composer Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke.

The film consists primarily of slow motion and time-lapse photography of cities and natural landscapes across the United States. The visual tone poem contains neither dialogue nor a vocalized narration: its tone is set by the juxtaposition of images and music. In the Hopi language, the word Koyaanisqatsi means ‘crazy life, life in turmoil, life out of balance, life disintegrating, a state of life that calls for another way of living’, and the film implies that modern humanity is living in such a way.

Tags: movies, video

<clipSource>http://underdogcinema.com/culture/koyaanisqatsi-life-out-of-balance/</clipSource>

Overlords of the UFO (1976)

clipped by: WIDEEYECINEMA

Clip Source: www.sigh7ings.com

Overlords of the UFO (1976)
