The Procrastinator's Clock takes an interesting twist on this principle. Instead of running a set ten minutes ahead or so, it actually varies in how fast it runs. It's guaranteed to run up to 15 minutes fast, but that value isn't a constant. With a clock like this, you know that at any given moment, it may be a quarter hour ahead, or it may be dead on accurate—and you'll never know which. If you weren't neurotic enough about getting there on time, now you can add the further uncertainty of not really knowing what time it is. Heck, it may be easier to just be on time.

SuperLame isn't exactly a name that inspires confidence, but it's actually a fun web app. If our review of Comiq Life Magiq caught your eye, but you don't run OS X or don't have a need for so many features, SuperLame is perfect for you. It creates customized dialogue bubbles with no fuss, and it's flash-based, so anyone can use it.

One of the most obvious things we liked about SuperLame is that it lets you place bubbles outside the borders of your uploaded image. If your dog has a lot to say in that picture, SuperLame isn't going to get in his way. The other features you'd expect are all there: background and border colors, font selection, different styles of balloons ("the thinking one" and "the action one," naturally), and resizing. If you have a picture that needs the superhero treatment, you could do much worse than SuperLame.

iContact is a lightweight Windows XP/Vista application that lets you import your Gmail contacts to your desktop. So if you don't have Excel and can't open an exported CSV file, this will work perfectly.

By clicking on a contact's name, it will start up your email software of choice as it should. It also brings down photos, Skype information, and address information to look people and places up on Google Maps.

Neato.

The developers plan on allowing you to bring in more contacts down the pike, like your poor lost MSN and Yahoo! souls.

You simply put in your Gmail login/password and it syncs up in seconds. Search for contacts and set it to open on Windows startup and it'll get your latest and greatest webgirlfriends or boyfriends contact info.

It's free, and it gets the job done if you want to keep your Gmail contacts safe on any one of your 59 computers.

If you've ever tried to sync up multiple copies of Firefox over multiple computers, we feel your pain. The Google sync plugin hasn't been updated since 2006 and didn't even work with the latest release of Firefox. Ugh.

In theory it could be used to annoy your friends to no end, although when you pick up you're given the option to take your number off the list permanently.

The creators also claim your number is never saved or kept tracked. This is a good thing and a bad thing, as taking your name off the list means you can never use it again, so be careful when you answer that found phone.

Use Zoomify to improve my digital images in Photoshop CS3?

Photoshop CS3 has a way to put your photo online and it will still download quickly with all of its high-resolution glory intact. It’s a dirty little secret called the Zoomify function.

The Zoomify function actually creates a finished Flash file from within Photoshop. This Flash file slices the high-resolution file into many small JPEG files that load on the fly as the viewer zooms into that area of the photo in the Web browser. This creates the illusion of being able to magnify a low-resolution file while retaining an enormous amount of detail.
