The title is punchy and gets right to the point; I'm clipping this at the encouragement of my girlfriend, and also because it goes hand-in-hand with the positive "be a nicer person" clips I've been seeing around.

I haven't read this book, but Guy's blog entry about it sure is valuable. Read and laugh... at your own peril!

Clip Source: blog.guykawasaki.com

Book Review: The No Asshole Rule by Robert Sutton

You have to like an author who has the testicles (or ovaries) to walk away from Harvard Business School Press because it wouldn’t let him use the word “asshole” in his title. (HBS Press also turned me down once, but I digress...) Robert Sutton is the author who did this; he’s a professor at Stanford in the engineering school. While I am not a big fan of profanity, “asshole” is the only word that delivers the proper connotative meaning in some situations, so forgive me for using it in this posting.

I have an early copy of Sutton’s book, The No Asshole Rule: Building a Civilized Workplace and Surviving One That Isn’t, and it’s the definitive guide to understanding, counteracting, and not becoming an asshole. I am qualified to make this judgment because (a) I’ve been an asshole a few times and (b) been a victim of assholes more than a few times.

Tags: nice, human, book, review, interpersonal relations, starbucks test, kindness, workplace, courtesy

<clipSource>http://blog.guykawasaki.com/2006/10/you_have_to_lov.html</clipSource>

Toys that freak your kids out, Vol. I

clipped by: Torley
clipper's remarks: As much as I love watermelon, I couldn't help but feel a little perturbed at seeing this...

Clip Source: cgi.ebay.com

Tags: watermelon, toy, creepy, wacky, pull toy

<clipSource>http://cgi.ebay.com/COOL-1960s-Cragstan-WACKY-MELON-Watermelon-PULL-TOY_W0QQitemZ320043707943QQihZ011QQcategoryZ728QQcmdZViewItem</clipSource>

Watermelon car

clipped by: Torley
clipper's remarks: So well done. appearance, as if he had been drawn by a composite artist, based on
the memories of an unreliable witness. It is to do with the
smoothness of his skin being at odds with the silver hair that flows
down to his shoulders. The latter reflects his age, 61; the former
    suggests he is a teenager.

<img src="http://clipmarks.com/image_cache/Torley/512/750798AA-97C7-4613-A3F6-698FE23BEC39.jpg" alt="Michio Kaku. Prof Kaku has a gift for
communicating complex scientific ideas in a way that lay people can
understand. He argues, moreover, that good physics should be simple,
so simple that it can be understood as an image. I'll let him
explain. 'A good physicist is driven by a childlike fascination
and imagination. If we find ourselves getting jaded or bored we have
to try to recapture that childishness. Einstein used to do that. He
could be quite childish. He wanted to get access to that feeling of wonderment.

<clipSource>http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtml?xml=/earth/2008/03/23/sv_michiokaku.xml&page=1</clipSource>

Lame YouTube comment about Second Life

clipped by: Torley
clipper's remarks: The replier has a good point.

Clip Source: youtube.com

tomme1981

The bleach bypass, or “bleach skip” technique involves the partial or complete skipping of the bleaching stage during the processing of a colour film. This prevents the silver from being removed from the negative, and the result is a contrasty image with muted colours. The technique is often used extensively in motion pictures, such as “Saving Private Ryan” and “Three Kings”.

Tags: free, photoshop, plugins, -, a, badass, list, with, many, gems

<clipSource>http://technotarget.com/free-photoshop-plugins/</clipSource>

Undescribably weird-looking stuffed animals

clipped by: Torley
clipper's remarks: If I were to take a stab at a descrip, I'd say they look like a cross between the Rolling Stones lips and the front of a slug.

Clip Source: www.newropeans-magazine.org

Tags: undescribably, weird-looking, stuffed, animals

<clipSource>http://www.newropeans-magazine.org/images/stories/articles/copy/art/isa%20gros%20teddy.jpg</clipSource>

It took THAT long for this to come to Snopes?

clipped by: Torley
clipper's remarks: It's watermelons.
