Why do good people sometimes act evil? Why do smart people sometimes do dumb or irrational things?" --Philip Zimbardo

Like eminent social psychologist Professor Philip Zimbardo, I'm also obsessed with why we do dumb or irrational things. The answer quite often is because of other people - something social psychologists have comprehensively shown.

Over the past few months I've been describing 10 of the most influential social psychology studies.

Read this
question, come up with an answer and then scroll down to the
bottom for the result. This is not a trick question. It is as
it reads.

No one I know has got it right.

A woman, while at the
funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did
not know. She thought this
guy was amazing. She believed him to be her
dream guy so much, that she fell
in love with him right there, but never
asked for his number and could not
find him. A few days later she killed

her sister.

Question: What is her
motive for killing her sister?

[Give this some thought before you answer, see
answer below]

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Answer:
She was hoping
the guy would appear at the funeral again. If you
answered this correctly,
you think like a psychopath. This was a test by
a famous American
Psychologist used to test if one has the same
mentality as a killer.
Many
arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the
question
correctly.

Dear Professor Millington,

Thank you for your letter of March 16. After careful consideration, I
regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me
an assistant professor position in your department.

This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually
large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field
of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.

Despite Whitson's outstanding qualifications and previous experience in
rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at
this time. Therefore, I will assume the position of assistant professor
in your department this August. I look forward to seeing you then.

Best of luck in rejecting future applicants.

This collection took the form, primarily, of the study and acquisition of books and articles on the named fallacies, especially textbooks and reference books. You can find individual files on the named fallacies via the Taxonomy of Logical Fallacies, or from the alphabetical index in the scroll bar to your left.

No one knew of Reza Alinejad until very recently. It was the letter of Ali Alinejad, Reza's brother, to Nazanin Afshin_Jam and her follow up and contact with Nazanin Fatehi's attorney Mr. Mostafai which brought attention to Reza's situation. Ever since Ali has been in direct contact with Nazanin Afshin-Jam. In an email today he provided another photo of Reza.

Nazanin Afshin-Jam and Stop Child Executions Campaign have received new photos of Reza Alinejad and Delara Darabi.
A new and amazing artwork of Delara is also posted in her gallery:

In response to information provided to amnesty international

Although thesitewizard.com contains guides for a wide variety of issues faced by a webmaster, new or old, none of them provide a step by step A-Z guide for
getting started with your website. As a result, I'm often asked by people who are absolute newcomers where they should start. Having an encyclopaedia in
your hands is not much use if you don't know which articles you should read first, and which next. This tutorial attempts to fill in the gaps by
providing you an overview to the web creation process from the beginning, linking to selected relevant on thesitewizard.com that you need to read and
do at each stage.

Tim LaHaye is a minister and the author of more than 50 books, including the best-selling Left Behind series.

I have clipped both pieces below because Atlantic Monthly won't let you view the entire article.

Clip Source: www.theatlantic.com

God-Drunk Society
