(CNN) — A “Hillraiser” – a major fundraiser for Hillary Clinton – said Friday he had defected to Barack Obama’s campaign. The official announcement will be made next week.

Gabriel Guerra-Mondragon – who served as ambassador to Chile during the Clinton administration – had raised close to half a million dollars for Clinton’s campaign, reports Chuck Todd, who broke the story.

"We're just bleeding each other out," Guerra-Mondragon told the Washington Post. TOPEKA, Kan. - Kansans will be able to own machine guns, other fully automatic weapons, sawed-off shotguns and silencers starting July 1.

Gov. The follicly-challenged singer has splashed out a fortune on hair transplant surgery to cover his blushes.

Clip Source: news.sky.com

Hair Today...Gone Tomorrow!

Clip Source: news.sky.com

Scientists have come up with the news many man have been praying for - a cure for baldness could be on the way.

They have managed to create new hair cells on the skin of mice, after identifying a mechanism that allows dormant genes to re-awaken.

They found mice regenerated hair at the site of a deep skin wound via molecular processes similar to those used in embryonic development.

According to the research, published in the journal Nature, the findings show mammals possess greater regenerative abilities than commonly believed.

While some amphibians can regenerate limbs and some reptiles can regenerate tails, regeneration in mammals is far more limited.

Dr George Cotsarelis, of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine, who led the study, said the findings dispelled the dogma that hair loss is permanent in people and other mammals, and once they are lost new hair follicles cannot grow.

Tags: health, science, chrome domes

<clipSource>http://news.sky.com/skynews/picture_gallery/0,,70141-1266125,00.html</clipSource>

Fantastic technology

clipped by: Potential applications for WiTricity include powering cell phones, laptops, household robots and other battery-run devices. However, before WiTricity enters the mainstream, there is still work to be done, as the group's tested device operated at only 40 percent efficiency.

Before WiTricity enters the mainstream, however, there is still work to be done.
The tested device operated at only 40 percent efficiency -- "pretty good for a first test," Karalis said, but still clearly in need of improvement. Rechargeable batteries, by contrast, operate at only 70 percent efficiency when new, and degrade over time, he added.

"The fact that magnetic fields interact so weakly with biological organisms is important for safety considerations," noted Kurs, a graduate student in physics.

Tiny packets or particles of light, photons, were used to teleport information between telescopes on the two islands. The photons did it by quantum entanglement and scientists hope it will form the basis of a way of sending encrypted data.

Tags: physics, teleportation, sci-fi, quantum

<clipSource>http://news.independent.co.uk/sci_tech/article2611757.ece</clipSource>

Gadget Fair in Switzerland

clipped by: looking4mars

Clip Source: edition.cnn.com

One notable invention is the spring-loaded fish hook -- the equivalent of an underwater mouse trap.
