Blue Cross of Texas has agreed to take over all the plans at a higher rate than what the same would be if you were to re-apply. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas will not let you re-apply for a lower rate and are forcing you to take this deal. Health care cooperatives may not help businesses very much

This is not catastrophic coverage! I represent the Tex Health plan and need to point out that it is limited in nature. As you point out it does give an employer an affordable option, though. Employers who are looking for affordable options and have had insurance in the past do qualify for the plans I sell. These plans have evolved. They used to be called mini-meds and are now called Limited Benefit Health Plans.

LAKE JACKSON, Texas -- When Lisa Kelly learned she had leukemia in late 2006, her doctor advised her to seek urgent care at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. But the nonprofit hospital refused to accept Mrs. Kelly's limited insurance. It asked for $105,000 in cash before it would admit her.

Life Insurance is Still in the Stone Age

Many people today dismiss the idea of life insurance. Even though they know they need it they have a preconceived notion that it is unaffordable and unattainable. A contributing factor to is that there are no outlets on the Internet that just gives them the rates they are looking for but instead require them to fill out a long page of private information only to have to wait to get rates and a phone call from a pushy insurance agent.
