As you reflect, tap into your joy

RESEARCH. Once you have a clear sense of what you want, the next step is finding jobs that meet those needs

OPEN TO ALL. During this discovery stage you should play detective

These steps are a precursor to the traditional way of finding a job. The remaining steps are what most of us follow today (resumes, interviews, etc.)

Tags: advice, employment, interview, lifestyle, tips, work

<clipSource>http://blogs.payscale.com/content/2007/09/payscale---tran.html</clipSource>

Common Sense 1, Republicans 0

clipped by: Perkalicious11

Clip Source: www.time.com

How out of touch is Barack Obama? He's so out of touch that he suggested that if all Americans inflated their tires properly and took their cars for regular tune-ups, they could save as much oil as new offshore drilling would produce

Gleeful Republicans have made this their daily talking point; Rush Limbaugh is having a field day; and the Republican National Committee is sending tire gauges labeled "Barack Obama's Energy Plan" to Washington reporters

But who's really out of touch?

The Bush Administration estimates that expanded offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 bbl. per day by 2030. We use about 20 million bbl. per day, so that would meet about 1% of our demand two decades from now

Meanwhile, efficiency experts say that keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage 3%, and regular maintenance can add another 4%

Many drivers already follow their advice, but if everyone did, we could immediately reduce demand several percentage points. In other words: Obama is right.

Tags: obama, oil, fuel, gas, inflation, savings

<clipSource>http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1829354,00.html</clipSource>

How to Score an Upgrade

clipped by: Perkalicious11

Clip Source: www.aarpmagazine.org

Score an Upgrade

Don't be the putz who asks for one. Instead, chat with the gal at the gate about sports. Hobbies. Anything but the upgrade. Eventually, without asking, you'll hear the magic words: Let me see your ticket. Post-trip, mail your gal a thank-you. Next flight, look for her. Jo's AWOL? Repeat the steps. You now have something in common with the new gate gal. You both know Jo.
