Most Congressmen are lawyers, and many others are businessmen. They know what “fiduciary responsibility” is. For Members of Congress, fiduciary responsibility means reading each word of every bill before they vote.

But Congress has not met this duty for a long time. Instead . . .

They carelessly pass mammoth bills that none of them have read. Sometimes printed copies aren't even available when they vote!

Often no one knows what these bills contain, or what they really do, or what they will really cost.

Additions and deletions are made at the last minute, in secrecy.

And votes are held with little debate or public notice.

We hold this truth to be self-evident, that those in Congress who vote on legislation they have not read, have not represented their constituents. They have misrepresented them.

To this end we have created the “Read the Bills Act (RTBA).” RTBA requires that . . .

A study published in the journal Biology Letters concludes that dogs can "catch" human yawns, which provides evidence that dogs may be able to “read the mind” of their owners.

the first ever study to report that human yawns induce yawning in dogs found that 21 out of 29 dogs yawned in response to human yawning, showing that "dogs possess the capacity for a rudimentary form of empathy."

really enjoy The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan. He is a gifted animal trainer, and it seems he can correct just about any dog in the world. He is a true master and clearly communicates with dogs at an energetic level. If you own a dog and are not familiar with Cesar yet, his show is an absolute must-see.

Can a city stop people from posting a link to its Web site?

That’s the question at the center of a federal lawsuit brought by a Sheboygan woman against the mayor and other officials there, in what appears to be a first-of-its-kind case, according to an Internet law expert.

Jennifer Reisinger says the Sheboygan city attorney ordered her to remove from her Web site a link to the city’s police department, in what she believes was retaliation for her support of recalling Mayor Juan Perez, according to the suit filed last week.

The city went further, the lawsuit claims, launching a criminal investigation of Reisinger for linking to the department on one of her sites.

The city’s actions torpedoed Reisinger’s Web site marketing business and led to death threats against her, according to the lawsuit.

“Linking to the Web site is no different than listing the street address of the Sheboygan police department,”

George W. Bush seems happy as ever as America's cheerleader-in-chief at the Beijing Olympics. Too bad his handlers didn't take care of the flag business as they normally do in arranging props for the President.

Our president has spent one-third of his entire two terms in office either at Camp David, Maryland, or at Crawford, Texas, on vacation.

Sen. John McCain takes weekends off and limits his campaign events to one a day.

It occurs to me that John McCain is as intellectually shallow as our current president

One after another, McCain's answers were shallow, simplistic, and trite. He showed the same intellectual curiosity that George Bush has -- virtually none.

John McCain graduated 894th in a class of 899 at the Naval Academy at Annapolis.

He no longer allows reporters unfettered access to him aboard the "Straight Talk Express" for a reason. He simply makes too many mistakes.

I am sick and tired of the president of the United States embarrassing me.

George Bush's record as a student, military man, businessman and leader of the free world is one of constant failure.

I fear to the depth of my being that John McCain is just like him.

Dolores Aguilar, born in 1929 in New Mexico, left us on August 7, 2008. She will be met in the afterlife by her husband, Raymond, her son, Paul Jr., and daughter, Ruby.

Dolores had no hobbies, made no contribution to society and rarely shared a kind word or deed in her life. I speak for the majority of her family when I say her presence will not be missed by many, very few tears will be shed and there will be no lamenting over her passing.

Her family will remember Dolores and amongst ourselves we will remember her in our own way, which were mostly sad and troubling times throughout the years. We may have some fond memories of her and perhaps we will think of those times too. But I truly believe at the end of the day ALL of us will really only miss what we never had, a good and kind mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I hope she is finally at peace with herself. As for the rest of us left behind, I hope this is the beginning of a time of healing and learning to be a family again.

However, using someone else's wireless service may not always be totally unethical, especially if you talk about it with the person, and in some communities, anonymous strangers may actively promote the use of their wireless by leaving the network unprotected and inviting people to use it.

When someone orders wireless service, he or she must invest in a router and be prepared to pay monthly fees for access. Using someone else's wireless service may be free for the user, but not for the person who owns the account. And, while it can be tempting to take advantage of an unsecured network to save money, there are some disadvantages to using someone else's wireless service, both for the owner of the service and the user.

It seems men and women have very different ideas about the perfect female figure.

While women yearn for the waspish waist of a size 8 model, men hanker after a curvy size 12 with hips. Oh yes!

At the Days Inn, I sat on the bed and it collapsed.

When the maintenance guy came, he lifted the bed and readjusted the bricks that was holding the bed up. Fortunately, we were only there one night and went on to a condo in Tampa the next night.
