You know Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli, the death-defying male nurse of NBC’s Heroes. This fall, the 30-year-old actor takes a break from saving lives to go on a big-screen killing spree in Pathology, a hospital thriller in which he plays an intern caught up in a game of “sex, drugs, and murder.” To prepare for the role, he hung out with morticians and murder victims at the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. “It was a life-changing experience,” he says of his time spent with the deceased. “I’ll probably be doing the speed limit from now on.”

The fumes at the gas station must be intoxicating because Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens both smiled for photogs at a gas station in Burbank, Calf. on Saturday. The High School sweethearts smiled and laughed their hearts out as Zac’s car was filling up.

Zefron sure looked pumped with his new car, an Audi A6. But then again, he looked pumped filling up his Alero too. Maybe to catch Zanessa smiling, we need more sightings of them at gas stations!

Ryan Phillippe gives his two kids, Ava and Deacon, a ride on the shopping cart after buying groceries at the Vicente Foods supermarket in Brentwood on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier this month, Ryan turned 33 and Ava turned 8. Deacon turns 4 next month. Ryan’s divorce with Reese has yet to be finalized.

Ryan also recently joined futuristic thriller Franklyn with French actress Eva Green (Casino Royale) and newcomer Sam Riley.

Variety reports that “Franklyn, set in contemporary London and a future metropolis dominated by faith, weaves the tale of four lost souls divided by two parallel worlds on course for an explosive collision when a single bullet will decide all their fates.”

Britney Spears it out and about Los Angeles on Saturday, wearing her favorite birdie fedora hat, carrying around a Red Bull energy drink and a walking with a mysterious armpit stain on her gray dress.

The pop princess also paid a visit to a furniture store near her home only to find it was closed.

Is that a sweat stain?? Or did she shove that can of Red Bull underneath her arm?? Usually if you sweat, both of pits sweat!

Matthew McConaughey and gorgeous girlfriend Camilla Alves were spotted leaving the George V Hotel in Paris yesterday - and headed off to the airport. The beach hunk slash actor was in the City of Lights to shoot a Dolce & Gabbana commercial (how classy!) while Camilla, you know, probably shopped? It is nice to see Matty away from the water though... although I'm sure he's dying to get back to that Malibu sun!

The city is gonna be way less hot now that they're gone!

"Vader! How's my favorite Sith?" Then, after listening for a few beats, the prune-faced politician slams a tiny plastic fist on his desk in rage. "Whaddya mean they blew up the Death Star?" He unleashes a flurry of V-chipped expletives. "That thing wasn't even fully paid off yet! Do you have any idea what this is going to do to my credit?" The conversation ends with a sheepish Palpatine grumbling, "I love you, too," before hanging up the phone.

Oscar De La Hoya is not denying the scandalous photos leaked on the web are him, he is however, still claiming they’re photoshopped.

August 29, 2007 -- QUENTIN Tarantino made a nuisance of himself on a flight from the Philippines last week. A passenger on the LAX-bound Philippines Airline Flight 544 from Manila told us the "Kill Bill" director and his traveling companion, D-list actress Tiffany Limos, had just come from the Cinemanila film festival where Tarantino was honored. "Tiffany was pushing Quentin in a wheelchair," the flier told us. "Apparently, Tarantino injured his back to the point where he couldn't walk . . . Quentin made one of the stewardesses cry because he didn't want to sit in his first-class seat. He wanted to sit on the floor or in one of the flight attendant's seats." A Philippine politician who happened to be on board had to come from his seat in business class to break up the fight. Meanwhile, cranky Tarantino "was telling Tiffany Limos how much he loved her . . . He called her 'the wife' on the flight." Reps for Tarantino and Limos didn't return calls.

Actor (Ice Castles), director and composer Robby Benson has written his first novel, Who Stole the Funny? (Harper Entertainment, paperback original, $13.95). It's a satirical roman à clef about a director's nightmare-filled week working on a sitcom. He answers a few questions about the book:

1: Why did you set your novel in the world of TV production?The most entertaining and funny thing I could write about is the absurdity and insanity of working on a sitcom.

2: Was it as unpleasant for you as it is for the director in your book?I've had wonderful experiences directing episodes of Friends and Ellen. But honestly, one show out of five would frighten a normal human being walking onto the set.

3: It's really that mean-spirited? I went to ridiculous extremes of the truth at times, but my 40 years in show business has taught me that you must write from the truth.

Nicole showed off her trendy short red nails and growing baby bump on her way into lunch at Real Food Daily (so yummy) in Beverly Hills yesterday afternoon. Most women wouldn't rock the skin tight LBD as maternity wear, but Nicole definitely wears that belly with pride, as she should. Ugh, I do wish that she would lose the fedora - so over those (even when she and Joel go matchies). It's been a while since we've seen her with her BFenemy Paris, but I'm sure she was pleased to hear Hilton's gushing support of Nic's mothering skills. No offers to babysit just yet though. Ha.

Gibson outlines passion for saving forests

KUALA LUMPUR: Oscar-winning actor and director Mel Gibson sprang a surprise when he attended a sponsorship-signing ceremony here yesterday for conservation of the rainforest.

The event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Petra Group and the Royal Society South-East Asia Rainforest Research Programme (SEARRP).

Petra will sponsor the latter's rainforest ecology research programme in Sabah (StarBiz: Petra plays its part in conservation)

Gibson, who last directed Apocalypto, which was set in an ancient Mayan jungle settlement, is on a two-week vacation in Malaysia. He was at the ceremony to lend his support to Petra Group's participation in the research programme on how to conserve the rainforest.

“I'm really proud and happy to be a witness to an agreement such as this. I've backed a lot of good causes – environmental and humanitarian,” he said.

He also cited a similar rainforest conservation project in El Mirador, Guatemala, which he strongly supported.

Flatley wins settlement from rape accuser

Dance superstar Michael Flatley has reached an out-of-court settlement with a former stripper who claimed he raped her.

Tyna Marie Robertson claimed the Lord of the Dance star assaulted her in a Las Vegas hotel in 2002.

Flatley, 49, insisted the sex was consensual. The police refused to pursue her claims so she made a $30 million (GBP15 million) civil claim - which she lost.

The dancer then filed a fraud and defamation lawsuit against Robertson and her lawyer - which was due to be heard in a Los Angeles court in September (07).

Flatley's lawyer Ricardo Cestero says the star is "quite pleased" with the unspecified settlement he has received.
