SYDNEY (AFP) - A lovelorn man who put his life in Australia up for sale on the Internet was one step closer to starting over Monday as bids for his house, job and lifestyle hit 2.2 million dollars (2.1 million US).

Okay peeps, I’m sure most of you know how to use Limewire and Bittorrent these days. But, I’ll bet you haven’t used Google to perform a quick Mp3 search for the nagging song that’s been stuck in your head all day. The truth is that Google can be used to conduct a search for almost any file type, including Mp3s, PDFs, and videos. This functionality has been available for a long time, but most users haven’t caught on to it. So here’s a quick example of how to use Google to search for Mp3s. It’s like turning Google into the Napster of 2000.

The following is a Google search string for searching open web directories containing downloadable Nirvana music files. Substitute the term Nirvana in the search string for any other band of your liking. You can always bookmark the search result for future use.

-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3) “Nirvana”

With some very slight modifications the same search string can easily be used to search for ebooks in DOC and PDF format:

-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(pdf|doc) “george orwell 1984″

Or perhaps your looking for some specific video file:

-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(mpg|wmv) “towelie”

silicone 'nerve' bra

This is a difficult piece to describe. Part bra, part sculpture, part social disturbance. As a vague description, we'll call it the 'nerve' bra, but it's really so much more.

While silicone is usually found inside a bra, we've used silicone on the outside as a means of sculpting the light into organic shapes with an underlying geometric pattern. This bra has a lot of LEDs (31 per side), in a full rainbow of colors, with eight different flashing patterns that can be selected by the wearer. The base bra in this example is a nude seamless type, encouraging the illusion that the skin is exposed and the light is coming from within the body.

While Britain may be often maligned for its cuisine, or lack thereof, we portly Americans could learn a lesson from the good folks in Tavistock, Devon. Apparently the fresh, locally grown, healthy food available in other restaurants and in school cafeterias was so good that people stopped going to the local McDonald's, forcing the restaurant to close up shop...
